Title: Buddy list?
Post by: streido on June 16, 2012, 12:51:43 AM
Just noticed that profiles have a thing called "add to buddy list", had'nt seen it before and just wondered what it was for? I thought we were all buddies here anyway and if i want to pm someone here i can, so wondered why is it there and if anyone actually uses it?

dont know what its actually for....i know i've added you, Wordslinger and Zombie to the "Buddy" list. i think its so you can easily find your buddys to either chat to or pm them. i think its just for ease of use. And as you say we ARE all buddys on here or at least i hope so.

Ah right, so if i want to pm someone i kinda know from before i dont have to go find one of their posts or find their profile to message them. Cool. Now i get it. Makes sense.

..it makes your selected buddie's  name appear in bold-face font, and tells you that a "buddy" is online...

..thing is, you don't know when someone has made you a buddy, sssso......

yea i had afew set backs with the build, just need to order afew more parts next friday. when i originaly pulled the engine apart it was in one hell of a mess, the piston was burnt to buggery and the cylinder was scored and scratched, plus the valve stem oil seal are shot (but just about useable) the valves themselves are wrecked and the cylinder head needs to be replaced because thats also been through the wars. so im just waiting for sum more parts before i go ahead and put the other parts onto her. btw does anyone know of a place where i can get that special 'star' ker for the bottom exhaust bolt, plus does anyone know of a good way to remove a zaust baffle? apart from all that i had to sling my new racing carb on because my oem carb gave up the ghost and decided that the engine no longer needed fuel!! now i have the new carb on im running quite quick but the poor engine cant really take it, so the sooner i get the rest of the bits the better. hows things been going on here?? how is everybody?

I got a small socket set from like Aldi or lidl that had a load of sockets in it inc thkse sar ones, it was only around £6-£7 for the set and its good for doing the cvt cover too. Think Tesco had them too a while back maybe they still have some, if not some will def be on ebay cheap.

what i forgot to mention on the last post is that the scoot is currently running on a second hand cylinder and piston due to the state of the one that i took off, bought it off a mate for £20 keeps me going for now untill i can get crackin on the build. cheers  for the heads up streido i shall look in my local lidl failing that there is a big tesco directly opposite. shall i just get a small chizzle on the spot welds on the baffle? i wish everything was simple like Jeremy Clarkson happens to see it...... if its broken use a hammer....failing that shout at it....alot..

I have a giant can of BFPFI that I use for all sorts of things. It almost always works.
For the baffle... are you talking about a washer inside the end of the pipe? If the pipe is more than 1 year old Id suggest using a Dremel to cut off as much of the weld as you can get. This will make punching it out easier. I would use a PUNCH instead of a sharp chisel too. The reason for all this is the pipe will be SOFT from heat/rust. Trying to chisel it out may tear the pipe making an unwanted hole.
Opened a Royal can of worms there eh?

Nah its brand spanking new  ;D hasnt been used as of yet. so basicaly the baffle will be coming out before its fitted to the bike.

so just a damn good measure of BFPFI and a can of 100% pure woop-ass. should work a treat.
