..if any of you have read my latest "sister-sister" posts, you know nina is running pretty good, 40+ miles every day, and really performing nicely...

..but i came across this malossi variator, spankin' new....

...well, i've always loved me some malossi on my guiltys, ssso today i decided to experiment with thissn on nina..
..it wassa good day....

..imma go ahead and try these 1 day old 4g dr pulley sliders that the naraku needed to keep nina in her powerband..

..the multivar with the naraku's 4g sliders netted 12,000 rpms (at least) at take-off!!!
..ran a quarter mile up and back, and could not throttle more than 1/2, just to keep rpms below 10,500...

...this is as far as the belt ever made it out the vari during that short run....

...threw in some 7.5g ninja sliders in place of the 4g dr ps..

..the malossi would be optimum with 7g sliders, i do believe...
..was awesome with the 7.5s till everything got warmed up..
..launching at 9200, and settling at 8700...right in the tech pipe's powerband...
..held there thru top speed on flat land, and still torqued forward into upper speeds..
..9600 at 60mph indicated... :o
..ran thru town, and did a bunch of street turns...still jumping back to 9000+ at acceleration out offa turn...
...i think i'm finally getting the hang of this!!!

..and to think, i almost tried some 6gr sliders before the 7,5s..glad i didnt.. :o
i do have some new 7g malossi rollers....hmmmm...

I really wish we could have more sunny days here. I would love to do some mods.... We had a wet summer (March to May), now its rainy season again...geeez... :'( June to September....

Luckily Word had me up to date on this ordeal..
The Naraku ramp plate looks similar to a plate i have with crazy ramp angles(compared to the malossi,venom,etc.)....hmmmmmm ??? ???

...guess i'm getting senile, or maybe it was the bud lights..i dunno, but somehow.......the 6gs actually made it into the multivar the other night, not the 7.5s, aannd the 6gs actually weigh 6.2....

I've been looking at those... Lots of guys run that on the pulley side, and the Malossi on the clutch side. Figured Id wait till I am tuned to try one.

I would think it should effect the weights from pre loading the spring more. You may have to go heavier a few .1g's

Parts last alot longer when you dont ride. My belt is as good as the last day I rode it...

I have not had good luck with the Naraku pulleys at all. They don't seem to last as long as the stock, though they do perform well enough in general.
The Multivar is awesome! Thanks for this good write up on your progress with it.
I have tried the Gates belts, and the Malossi, and the Naraku. I almost hate to say it, but I honest to goodness believe that for our Kymcos, the OEM Bando belt is the best out there.

..and i agree about the narakus...they perform, but don't have the stamina...

I 100% agree with you. I've found if I can get a Malossi belt to last 1 year I have a pretty damn good set up. Once that one is replaced an OEM will last much longer. When things are wrong... Kevlar s explode! It's the Drama I like... You can get more torque from kevlar I believe. But that is uncertain to me. Just a butt dyno...
