Title: Muffler modification( cutaway drawing needed )
Post by: hpbt on July 03, 2012, 01:06:59 PM
Hi everybody, I'm an italian Downtown enthusiast, and I would modifing the muffler to improve sound and effectivness of our scooter.
I would try to perform a modification  like this that someone has already done on the TMax
http://www.tmaxclub.it/convenzioni/doc_dime/scarico_E55.pdf (http://www.tmaxclub.it/convenzioni/doc_dime/scarico_E55.pdf)
Has someone the drawings or a cutaway view of our muffler/exhaust in order to prepare the job?
 Thanks

Don't.
You will gain absolutely nothing but noise and short life span of the destroyed exhaust.

Buy a reputable brand exhaust.. but keep the original close by.. since you're probably
gonna end up going back to it shortly.

Check the price of a new original exhaust before you butcher the one you have.

Why not just get an Italian Zard exhaust?

Thanks everybody, I have found an used muffler for 90€ and I would sacrifice it for the "butcher job"  ;D.
The Zard exhaust is very styled and lite but is expensive also...420 €.. too much for sound improvment or 1/2 horse-power gain ---

Sono spesso a Milano, in fatti, San Donato Milanese.
Dove vai a ferragosto? Forse Istria, Dalmazia?

Hi hpbt
I have just ordered the Zard exhaust should be with me in 2/3 weeks will let you know what it is like when fitted. I was going to change the sliders but you cannot see them and I think the DT's acceleration is good enough so plumped for the exhaust as it looks damn sexy.
