Title: Phone/GPS mount and bike computer.
Post by: Spindrift on July 12, 2012, 12:49:58 PM
Hi all!

Does anyone fitted an smartphone or GPS on to the scooter (xc500)? Have some ideas but none are perfect. Also interested in how you have fitted bike computer. Does wireless work?

Regards from Sweden.

I have used a cheapo suction-cup mount from a local grocery store without any
issues, it was about $12, I attached it to the windscreen, obviously.

Givi has a small scooter bag for cellphone/gps, but it costs a lot.

I have been testing that but I want a more "permanent" solution. Looked at an waterproof hard case with built in charger, think I'll go for that and fit it to my mount that I have. Glue instead of suction cup.

Check out RAM Mounts. They have several option for GPS and Smart Phones, some mount to your break fluid reservoirs, others mount to bars or you can get screw on ones for mounting on the "dash". I use my iPhone as my GPS and have a Bluetooth helmet set (Senna SMH-10 ) to hear the commands, answer calls or listen to tunes.

RAM mounts may be good but they are too bulky for my taste. I want to be able to see all instruments and I also want a sleek design. Part oem/3 part and modified/home made is the way to I think.
