Title: Radiator Fan delay... engine overheats
Post by: PickleB21 on July 20, 2012, 01:08:19 AM
Had this People S250 for three years, very low mileage approx. 1000 miles. For the first time it overheated on me , discovered the radiator cooling fan did not function. :-\
Once stopped and turned engine off, (Was overheated) Turned engine back on and the fan kicked on.   ???
Any ideas as to what might have impede the fan from turning on when it should have?
What do I need to check to prevent this from happening again?   Has this happened to anyone? Any advise will be welcome,Thank you...

Alot of things can cause this. Coolant level... If it's low the sender cannot read the temp. Wiring... Explains itself. Sender is going bad... attach a test light to the sender to see if the sender is reading. While you ride it should come on. This will let you know if the sender is good. Fan relay... It is most likely the relay is going, and I would replace it asap.

Thank you Zombie, will do those checks ASAP, Coolant level was good, Had washed the Bike the day prior, probably got some water on the relay or something, will pay a close look.
Thank you , you are most kind.
