I was at my Kymco dealer yesterday and the Kymco factory rep was there. He said the X700 will be here in Feb. He has ridden one and said it is very smooth and same engine they are building for BMW. Did not have a price yet...
-
Did he say anything about the New X500 & or X400? :-*
-
Anybody heard about the new 4 & 500's hitting the states any time soon? :-*

The bolded part - no it isn't.

Hi Cortez,
I.ve read several articles about Kymco producing engines for other manufactuurers. Especially Honda and BMW. I subscribe to Rider Magazine and remembered the BMW scooter review. It was written by Mark Tuttle and published on May 31, 2012. It's a great review of these two maxiscoots; the C600 Sport and the C650 GT. "Both are built at BMW's Berlin, Germany plant and are powered by a BMW designed and engineered parrallel twin-cylinder engine manufactured by Taiwan based
Kymco, which has vast megascooter experience and production capacity."

Not only has Kymco made engines for Honda and BMW, they made engines for Kawasaki. They made the Honda Elite scooter for Honda through the 90s. And Others as well
-
I think what Cortez meant is that the 700's engine is not the one in the BMWs. Not that kymco isn't making the BMW ones. It has been well established that the, I believe 638 CC engings in the BMWs are kymco. But the 700 is not that engine.
-
That's correct. They are NOT the same engines.
Read a review of the Kymco 700 on scooter-infos.com and they were pretty clear on that.
-
Right.
Not disputing Cortez. I was just clarifying that Kymco does build the engines for the Beamer
scoots.

Yes, I'm aware of that.

Exactly.

FYI: My 2004 Honda Elite 80 was built in Mexico for the US market. Maybe it was just assembled in Mexico from parts from Kymco...

I believe Kymco had stopped bulding them by then. Kymco made the Elites for Honda through the mid 90s.

Guys, I read from one facebook scooter club through the KymcoUSA website that the 700ccs bikes will be here summer 2013. I hope this is true.

Has a price been listed?

I believe the other thread related to 700 cc Kymco scooter was started in... 2004? ;D
-
Maybe next year, exactly 10 years later!

Has a price been listed?
If I were to guess I think it would be roughly a grand (US dollars) cheaper than the Burgman 650. A 2012 Suzuki Burgman is listed at just shy of $9,900.
Considering how previous Kymco products where priced anywhere from $500 to $1000 lower then I would guess the Kymco X700 (or MyRoad) would be in the high 8 to low 9,000 dollar range.

It's $9,900.00 alright... Trancebear ordered one already.... nice guess houndguy...

Any of you guys got any photos of your 700's ? That sure is one big donk in a scoot. I reckon they'd bloodywell get along alright, wouldn't they ?
