I've been looking for a service manual and found one and a parts list at:
http://www.timtaylor.net/Scooter/Manuals.htm (http://www.timtaylor.net/Scooter/Manuals.htm)
You have to scroll down. There are two files for the Kymco -- Service and Parts. The files are .rar files (compressed) and there is a link at the bottom of the page for a program that uncompresses them.

if anyone downloads please confirm with board the download is legit please.

What qualifies as "legit" in this case? I found it starting off with sites listed on this forum that eventually led me to that link. When uncompressed it is 21 pdf files, each a chapter. For example, "chapter 8. CYLINDER HEAD/VALVES." The chapter is 38 pages.
The whole book is entitled "XCITING 500/250."

The site was last updated...1/6/10...wonder how up to date it is?

I was serious about being "legit." I don't want to do anything wrong on the board. I just thought some people might be interested in the link. A lot of Kymco models are listed there. The manuals may not be the latest but free works for most people these days. Goggle brought up a lot of sites that said "get a free download" but when you get there it isn't free. You have to "register," install special software on your computer, etc. I consider all that dangerous. This place just downloaded the file.

It's a legit link - but it's for the 2006 XCiting 500, things specific to the R and Ri won't be covered. Front fairing, mirrors, windscreen, and of course fuel injection system are different on the Ri. It WILL show you you how to change the oil, the spark plug, the rear tire and such.
-
It should cover all 2007-10 models, which includes both carbed and fuel injected. So it should be good for the 2011-12 also as there were no further changes as far as I know. :-*

Thought I had a better deal but it did not check out. It said fuel injectors but only had carburetor.
