2009 Kymco people 150
3000 km
Scooter turns over, but will not start:
I checked the spark plug, no spark. Checked the Ohms on Ignition Coil & CDI Unit. Ignition Coil seemed to be right on. The CDI Unit had no Ohms whatsoever.
Replaced the CDI Unit, Ignition Coil, & Spark Plug. (B/c I got a good deal on it - http://www.scooterelements.ecrater.com/p/13968880/stage-2-ignition-kit (http://www.scooterelements.ecrater.com/p/13968880/stage-2-ignition-kit))
But still, nothing works.
This CDI Unit, however, is about 1/4th smaller (vert & horizontally). Will that make a difference?
I have yet to check the Ohms nor the spark with these replaced parts. What would you do next?
Also, I noticed that after I tried for awhile. It was starting to have difficulties even turning over, which it has never had issues with yet. I'm kinda at a loss. Any suggestions?

I think you may have purchased an AC CDI. Kymco runs on DC.

The small CDI is an AC unit and will pop your fuses, no other harm (except the AC unit will be fried). Just replace with the proper DC version, replace the fuses, and carry on.

Yep, the bigger -(black) CDI is a DC CDI - but to my inderstanding not all Kymcos runs on DC CDI’s.
I stand to be corrected.

Truly - and not all KYMCO DC CDIs are interchangeable!
