Title: Can someone help me hook my carb up?
Post by: Shredder111 on April 19, 2013, 02:36:19 AM
Hi guys,

being the lazy man I am, I didn't take a picture of the hoses connected to my 2013 Kymco Super 8 2T, when I took it off the bike for jetting and now I can't seem to figure out what goes where. I'm not quite sure which hose is the fuel line, oil line, and whatever else line. Can someone please help me out or take a picture for me, explaining what to connect where? I looked around online, but didn't find anything specific for this model. Thank you!

Just so you don't think everyone is ignoring you, what kind of bike do you have?

O.k., here is a picture. I don't know what the point with the pink oval is.. The hose labeled with a red square is the skinnier hose of the two next to each other, in front. The yellow hose is the fattest one. The hose labeled in green had a oily film coming out of it, so I guess that was the oil connection, that one had a natural curve to it, so I connected that to the curved tube, but I could be wrong. I also have a U shaped hose with one longer and slit side, so as to let something in or out.. Can you please let me know what goes where?

Thank you

What make and model is this motorcycle/scooter? Is it a two-stroke or a four-stroke? I am guessing it is a 2-stroke. Good pictures, by the way.

Ok here you go...

#1: Bowl over-flow fitting. Gets the "U" Shaped hose. Other end goes through that loop on the side of the carb and just hangs free

#2: Fuel supply fitting. Larger diameter line that goes to the auto-cock/fuel filter back by the tank. (Yellow)

#3: Oil injection fitting. Small diameter line that leads to the oil pump on the engine. (Green)

#4: Fuel valve vacuum fitting. Small diameter vac line that goes to the auto-cock/fuel filter back by the tank. (Red)

Actually Peters, you and Vivo were wrong. The fuel inlet was #1 and the overflow fitting was #2. This is the reason my carb was peeing gas and choking out. I figured it out by blowing in the holes.

Oh, I'm sorry Shredder, I'm sure Peter didn't mean to confuse the 2...
