Here in the States that qualifies as a biker rally. Cars are king here. PTWs are primarily a recreational vehicle. Only a small percentage use them as daily commuters.

Vivo, We're trying to find another scooterist to ride with and over there you are probably trying to find some place to ride that there aren"t a bunch of scooters. HA HA! Jeff

$244 for a Vespa Pimpy, those were the days, add a zero now for that exact same scoot in good condition. I almost bought one of them last year with an 80cc kit on it, the guy was asking £1300 for it, and it still needed a complete respray too since he'd hand painted it with household paint and a brush!

Do they have "Valets" for the higher end scooter shopper?

No valets, Lol!  Nobody can touch one's scooter... High end scooter owners only ride and meet at high end restaurants or bars to show off their stuff and talk about their other expensive stuff.... They don't use their expensive scoots to go to the malls and corner stores... When they go to malls, they use their cars... with drivers of course...  ;)

Expensive scooters are not prone to theft because there's no market for them... Yamahas and Hondas   have high demand and are the ones being stolen mostly...

That's really cool! I wish there were more two wheelers in the USA. I think motorists would be more used to seeing us, and would be more aware to look out for us.

I agree with TCLHB - we really need more 2 wheel commuters. It's amazing how much more space on the roads and parking areas we would have. And the traffic would move much more efficiently as well. People in the States need to readjust their thinking about transportation.

If "desire" to have a bike would be the deciding factor to get a motorcycle/scooter, the numbers will not grow fast... The two factors that Asians have in getting a scoot are "necessity" and "purchasing power"... The need to be mobile but can't afford a car... get a motorcycle or scooter...  ;)

Yes, when you can buy a used car that will run for $500, insure it for $90 a year and have to pay only $20 in taxes most families will go with the car ever time if they are low on cash.
