Title: no compression, kickstart but electric start works
Post by: stevescraigslistid on June 26, 2013, 03:06:34 AM
Like the title says, no compression on the kick start, i can move the kick start by hand with no force applied at all.
The electric start works fine.
Upon starting via electric start, the bike is very loud now, coming from the kick start side
Kymco like 50 , 2012 model , 1k miles - was fine just the day before.

So, i know i need to visit  mechanic, my question is, can i ride it to mechanic without causing more damage, about 10 miles away?
Or do i need it transported?

thanks in advance!

If you don't know what's happening inside.. I suggest you transport it...

Take off the cvt cover and have a look to see if you can see any obvious problems?

I just took my scoot kick start off its been off for over a year now. It might be the kick start spring is week or broken. It happens. you can take it off and leave it off, The kick start is for only if the elc, dont work its better to have both. if my elc, gos ill be doing a long walk home.

Loud? What do you mean? Grinding? Squealing? Popping? Or just abnormally loud engine noise?
