Now I know that people are pretty attached to there scooters. Kinda like a pet. At least I know I am and I have only had mine for about a month. Just wondering what names people have given the scooters. I have been trying to figure out a good name for my Like for a while now but it just won't give me a hint as to what he wants to be called.
Everyone chime in and let us know what you call your scoots. I think this will give things more of a personal touch.
Ride safe everyone, mscmkr

I used to call her my babe but now I call it a pile of junk. :'(

How'd you time that out for your 69th post? Really though, that's the name you came up with?
-
If I had named her it would be comeon as in Oh come on Babe please start. (she's yet to fail me but I always worry, especially when I'm away from home.

I call my LIKE 200i the "scooter"....so as not to get it confused with the "toaster" (our Scion xB)
Seems like a bunch of fellows are having a hate/dislike kinda thing going with their scoots (and issues re. females?)
So far, I'm still in that happy scooterist phase.....but if this thing craps out on me I'll get a big wheeled SYM or People or Scarabeo. Life's too short to muck about on really small wheels or issues.
-
I call my super 8 "The POS I should have never bought".
I call my People 250 "Rolling Elephant"
-
That's funny Stig, I have a Scion xB as well. But that one I just call.....dented. Runs great tho. 2008 with only 53,000 miles. Bought it new and ran the drivers side into a cement pole in a gas station 7 months later. I hope I have better luck with my Like.
Ride safe everyone, mscmkr.

I too have a Scion xB (2005 - 106,000 miles) that I have called "Toaster Car" since day 1.
My Nighthawk is simply "Old Faithful"
The Guzzi is "Amborado" combination of Ambassador and Eldorado
I've got to come up with names for the Kymcos......
Wil B.
Broadview, IL
'71 Guzzi Ambassador
'91 Nighthawk
'04 Kymco Super 9
'10 Kymco Yager 200gt

Actually, we have 2 xB's.
Son bought a '05 , now has 165,000 on it- flawless miles!
So good, went down & bought a new one for the family - then put the wing on and some graphics to make it go faster. :-)

idk , well in 8 months of owning it it blew up 5 fuses and suffered blocked carb.
I think it was ''f***ing cunt'' at some point.

Really?
How about POS, trash, garbage etc. the word you choose is about the most offensive anyone could come up with. Why not just sell the scoot, buy another brand and hit up another forum with the excessive language.

I call my scoot The Bat-Ped! It's fun to say to The Bat-Ped anytime I am going somewhere, even if I only say it to myself. It's the little things in life :)

AS a long time Janis Joplin fan, I call mine "Pearl"
-
Who is this Bat person? (and why the funny undies?)
Is he related to Bernice Batt, 2818 KymcoStrasse - near Batavia?
-
It's too bad so many super heroes were orphans. Maybe if they had parents they would've learned to wear their undies on the inside of their pants.

That is funny.

My daughter was the one who named the scoot "Casey" when she saw the Kymco logo (KC) at the side of the scoot the day I brought it home....

I love my People 250. Still looks brand new.
My Super 8 bought new - all went bad in first 6 months. Headlights burnt out, Rectifier fried, CDI went bad, Light Control box went out, Battery died though I kept in on a battery tender, front tire developed a bubble in sidewall and had to be replaced, front disk brake line started leaking.
Most ever metal chromed part is rusting like crazy - Bar ends and peg bolts and so forth. That is how it acquired the name "POS".
The scoot is parked in a car port with a breathable cover on it. It's never been in the rain.
My 2006 People 250 has been treated exactly the same and has no rust and has given me not issues.

My Super 8 is perfect... no rust (considering it has been through lots of rain and storms and floods), starts and runs great....
You just got a lemon there... or maybe because you stole the dog... ::)

All of that happened before i took his mutt. I think I took his mutt because of all the crap that went wrong with my Super Turd.

I think i may have finally figured out a good name for my Like. I'm sure this sounds a bit strange but as of late that seems to be all I'm getting. A few days ago I went out to the garage and was messing with my scooter. I sat on the seat and for the hell of it I said,"ok scooter, what do you want to be named?" Right then the name "Leonard" popped into my head. Is my scooter talking to me or had the medication just not kicked in yet? Maybe another Dr appointment is in order?
Well anyway, looks like its going to be called Leonard. And of course Lenny for short. Kinda funny, this is the second time something like this happened to me. Years ago back in about 84, 85 I bought a 1972 Dodge Dart for $600. Loved that car even though it had lots of problems. I could not drive over 50 mph because the gears in the rear end would whine like crazy! Also, i had to bang on the carb every few days because the float would stick. Well, after buying it and driving it home I knew exactly what I was going to call it. That car was Bruno. All my friends immediately started calling it Bruno as well because it just looked like a Bruno.
Well, I'm glad my scoot finally has a name. Now on to redoing that damn seat. I love ridding it but my ass just won't let me go longer than about 40 minutes. I will throw up some pics when I get it done.
Ride safe everyone, mscmkr
