FOR A 6'0 MAN THERE IS ABSOLUTLEY NO EXTENDED LEG ROOM.THIS IS MY ONLY COMPLAINT GUESS THE TAIWANESE ARE ALL DAMN SHORT
-
Ya I cut the back of the seat back about 5 inches and cut the dome off of the base under the pile on seat, then added 4 inches of rebond foam to the seating area, now I can see over the new givi screen with lots of clearance,. and much more leg room,.
-
so i assume you took the seat off and did this..any pics o hope..i could use about 4 or 5 inches.if i had 4 inches id be good to go
-
i almost bought the downtown too. I wanted it. i did not fit on it. 6'1 1/2" 260lbs. I just did not fit. I bought xciting 250 orange 2007 then xciting 500 2009. Easy fit on the xciting. Downtown rides like a dream.
-
yea that's the only flaw in this bike.because everything else is just wow.xciting is a good bike i almost bought it.but didn't want a bigger bike i had a Burgman 650.so i done been the big route i don't travel long distance as i use to with the club i ride with so im like de ill cutomize the seat my cousin does stuff like that i'll let him do it
-
I wish I had a cousin like that,.
-
That is the problem with the DT. I can't believe it fits anybody. 31 inch seat height and no place to put your legs. I would have purchased one in a heartbeat had I fit. I'm 5'7", 30 inch inseam.
-
32 inseam here and doing just fine with it. It does take a little getting used to it. I am going to redo the seat though because that is a little hard and leans forward to much.
-
yep i bought a electric staple gun and some good 3 m spray glue iam going to re shape some plastic will take pics yeah im not sure why they didn't make the floor board straight like every other scoot is...maybe they were smoking some good taiwanee joints lol

I'm 5'9" and I fit ok. And I'm female and have a longer inseam - like 33". I am used to riding with my knees bent further and my feet a little further back than normal.
The seat seems to have gotten more comfortable after about 600 miles and is fine now.
-
I have gotten used to riding with my feet on the upper floor boards. It took a while to get used to it but now that I have I like it.

Now you're making me recall the image of the late 60s Cafe Racer, screaming down the A1 towards Scotch Corner and the rider has his feet back on the passenger pegs so he can lie flat on the tank.....
-
I bought a gel pad that raised me up about 2 inches and was therefore able to move back also. It works out fine, no cramping. It jus might wpork for you too.
-
Honestly i'm getting use to it.i may not do anything to the seat
-
feebleknievel. If you decide to modify your seat please let us know and send the pic. I'm buying a DT in november.
-
I have DT 300i also. I am only 5'2" and 29" inseam. The lack of leg room and having to keep my knees bent, makes me think that they should have installed foot pegs or at least make them an option. I went to my Kymco mechanic and asked about installing foot pegs. He said that there is no place to bolt the foot pegs that has reinforcement under the plastic body parts.
I had 2 Burgmans and a Piaggo and probably got spoiled with the leg room.
-
I like to point my toes out a bit and keep my knees apart so I can hug my tunnel bag as one would hug a tank on a regular motorcycle. I don,t like the typical knee position that most scooterists use.

i'm having my seat re done gonna take 2 inches off the back and add a gel pack padding cut out to fit the shape of the seat a friend of mine does seats and he's gonna do it all for me for less than $100.00
