Super 8 150 / Re: Aluminum Chips
« on: April 03, 2012, 02:19:28 PM »
:peekshisheadaroundthecorner:  ;D Mmmmyellow?  Long time, eh?  I had the same problem when I first got my S8.  And, like Zombie said, you need to clean, and de glaze the clutch bell.  I had the same exact problem.  Opened it up, checked out what was doin' in there, and got cleaning, and scrubbing.  Piut everything back together, and voila!  Done and done.

No idea about the chips though....though by now, I'm sure that's been taken care of...

Super 8 150 / Re: It's been a loooong time....

I didn't try at a low rate....I'll give it a shot.  To be honest though, at this point, rather than trying to get it to work, I think i'd rather spend the $50 and get myself and battery and be off and running.  I know, it's the easy way out, but who doesn't like things to be easy?!

Super 8 150 / It's been a loooong time....
« on: April 19, 2011, 11:21:44 PM »
Hey everyone!  It's been a long time since I've been here.  Hope all of you have been well.  So it's been getting nice here in the NE, and I've tried to get my Super 8 started  and I have been able to, but not without jumping it.  I've tried to charge the battery, but to no avail.  I'm in a tough spot in terms of needing a new battery, and was wondering if anyone knows if you can by a battery for a Super 8 anywhere other than online?  Any help would be mucho appreciated!  Thanks and WELCOME BACK WARM WEATHER!!!!   ;D

Hey Shu!!!  You're in my camp...I traded my Agility about a month ago or so for the Super 8 150...er "50", and boy-oh-boy, the difference in power is CRAZY!!  Now, if we can just get everyone to come up to my house, we can finally for a ride....Sling?  Zombie?  You're in the city, right Shu?  Manhattan or Brooklyn, right?

I'm pretty sure it has something to do w/ my throttle, but I have no idea where to begin.  When I'm at a dead stop and give her a little gas, she starts to go, then a second or 2 there's a small "jerk", then everything is fine...anyone have or had this problem?   Any ideas what it could be?

Ok, so I decided to switch out the regular signals in front to the "dummy" signals.....I took off the covers and took the bulb out.  At that point I took the dummy cove off to make sure the bulb would fit.  After looking at everything, I decided that it would be best to have a friend who knows what he's doing do it.  I put the bulb back in, screwed everything back together, and now nothing!  The clock won't light up, no lights...NOTHING!  I was in a parade w/ a bunch of other scooters earlier, and everything was fine....got caught in a little rain, but not a downpour, so I doubt that had anything to do w. it...besides, when I was her, she gets soaked, obviously.....anyone have any ideas?  Is it safe to try and jump her off a regular car?  Man I hope someone is in here right now that can answer me! :( ???

Edit:  Found out that I can jump her off my car....no luck though :(

Thanks slingwalker....and thanks to you too zombie...I wasn't sure if there we're any real "heavy" restrictions on the super 8's, but firgured I'd ask...so, now that I know I can get a racing cdi, I wonder if there's a cable I could snip-snip, or if there a cable inside I could blow through....it's strange, w/ "babe", I could find anything I needed in a second, but now w/ my new girl (yet to be named...looking for ideas!) It's super hard to find anything!  The search continues......happy 4th to my fellow Americans!

Is it worth it?  I know that it will help w/ gas mileage, although I do get about 70mpg.  I'm not looking for more speed, obviously, but am looking for overall better performance....doing the modifications to get her to be what she was meant to be!  Sling?  I know you have something for me....you always do, oh Jedi Master of Kymco!   ;D

They could have spent around $400,000 in preventive measures, but instead our government said not to worry about it...sad, isn't it?
