General Discussion / Kymco ZX50 Oil Change - Possible Air Lock

Just servived my girlfriends ZX50 by changing the oil dince it's a 2 stroke as the one she was using by Caltex is supposidley too thick. Anyway, she runs for a bit and then she cuts out if you rev her for a bit. She'll start again an does the same thing. Did this a few times and she seems to idle now. Saying that, i disconnected a hose to the carb and i've heard someone saying about an air lock. Can this happen and how do you fix it? 
Think i'll let it idle tomorrow somemore with the new oil to flush out the rest of the old stuff though a Kymco mechanic suggested putting half a cap of Fuel injection liqued in the fuel to help flush and resolve the issue.
