General Discussion / Re: AK FUEL FILTER
« on: October 23, 2022, 10:16:12 PM »
BINGO!
It's a filter screen at the bottom of the fuel pump like most big FI bikes. And the fuel pump is a module that sits down inside the tank like all the bigger bikes I've owned, FI or Carb.
No mention of a filter in the service manual but the fuel pump details start on page 6-21 in the service manual and the filter screen is the disk that can be seen at the bottom of the pump assembly.

Thank you kindly.

Is there a fuel filter in our AK 550? I looked in the on line manual but did not see anything. Did I miss it? Thank you.

General Discussion / AK 550 gas mileage
« on: September 12, 2022, 10:51:35 PM »
My red gas bar starts flashing at 75 miles on the A trip meter. I got home at about 77 miles on the meter and measured the gas dept with a stick and came up with about 1.5 inch. I’m trying to figure out how long I can go on the fuel red flashing bar. Thank you for the help, I’m not good at math. :)

General Discussion / GAS MILEAGE
« on: June 10, 2022, 11:09:58 PM »
I just checked gas mileage at 1800 miles ( bought in September last year) and I was a bit disappointed at 43MPG. My riding while very conservative it’s 100% city riding. Anyone else show similar numbers? Thank you.

Has anybody installed them? If so, may I ask where you bought them? I had shorty levers on my motorcycle and I find them very comfortable.
Thank you.

Developing real feelings for the AK...sometimes when i fill it up i slip my pinky in her gashole.

...Feels a little rapey since the engine isnt running. Should probably quit it

That’s sick. How would you feel if someone stuck a finger in your gas hole?

Thank you. Yes I’m aware of all that. Maybe I should have called it final drive fluid? My 2016 Genuine Hooligan has gear oil that needs to be replace occasionally. It is also a CVT. Thank you for your comment.

Why do we discuss the Burgman 400? It’s no longer available in the USA.

My new AK550 starts blinking at about 120 miles. Takes 2.5 gal. to fill it. Seems about right.

Another question...does your belt on your AK sit all the way to the left on the wheel sprocket or is it more centered?
Mine sits on the left too.
