Hi Stig,

Me ? Religious ? More like the eternal optimist !

There's no reason why a scooter that has not moved in 22 years wont work as well as it did when it last ran, provided it has been stored in a clean, dry, dark atmosphere. A closed garage in the south of France is dry, cool, dark and (relatively) clean.
After checking the air filter and fuel lines, chaning the battery and pumping up the tyres, it fired within 20 seconds. Even on the old gas (the tank had been brimed before it was put away).

I have a teenage son whose "real" bike (a 2 stroke 50cc Rieju RS3) is currently off the road awaiting reduild and the scooter will keep him moble until then. Not surprisingly, he is struggling with the much slower machine - his Rieju would do 50mph - so I'm looking for any experienced advice to point me in the right direction.

Hi everyone,

I have just acquired a 2000 Filly 50 from an elderly neighbour who rode 1000km in the first year and left it at the back of the garage since. It looks like it's just rolled out of the showroom !
The first service was never done, so I've done it all, except check the valve clearances. It runs fine, but the top speed appears to be limited to 35kmh / 20 mph  :(.
It's a French model, but here in France the speed limit for 50cc scooters and motorcycles in 45kmh.
Is there something that should be done at the first service to allow it to reach the intended maximum speed ?

Thanks in advance
