People s150 / Re: Lower windscreen for S150
« on: June 25, 2024, 08:24:16 AM »
I was thinking the same thing. I'm 5' 10" though and can see right through mine. The visibility is very good, and it protects me pretty well. Living in the cooler Central New York climate that is very important. I think I'll leave it alone. Check You Tube. There is a very good video on cutting down the People S windshield. If you take your time, It look like a pretty easy job. Make sure you know exactly what height you want. Measure twice and cut once. Good luck and let us know the results.

In my opinion definitely go with a LED bulb. I changed out my X-Town 300i lights to LED, and the difference was unbelievable. I also had a People 150 back in 2010. I didn't change that light bulb, but I remember that getting the plastics apart on it was a pain. It would be worth the effort though. There are many different Led bulbs available on Amazon or E-Bay. Once you get the plastic apart it is a plug and play job. When I had my 2010 People apart, I installed amber Bulbs as running lights in the European turn signal locations. Once you get your new LED headlight adjusted properly, you will love it.

I've tried several and find the "motorcycle throttle wrist rest" the best compromise. It doesn't lock the throttle but allows you to lay your wrist on a lever rather than twisting your wrist, which is a big help to this arthritic geezer rider. You can get four of them for $7 on amazon, ebay has them, too. Easy to snap on or off and easy to adjust on the go.

This looks like the best solution for me also. Thank you for that information.

How soon do you think you’ll find out the weight ? I like doing easy inexpensive stuff it’s the bigger more $ stuff that I think about.

Probably about a month. I want to put about 1000 miles before I do it. I'll change the oil and differential over to full synthetic while it's down waiting parts.

Tear yours down. It's probably only about a 1/2-hour job. Then you'll know for sure what weight YOUR scooter has in it. The only bummer is waiting for the new sliders to get here.

Time for my review on my new 2023 People 150 my son and I traded back and forth between my 2022 Honda ADV150 .
The bikes compare well against each other both are spectacular bikes for what they are small easy to use motorbikes .
First was the drag race hands down the Honda has the win there ,the brake on the other hand the People whoops the Honda . So my thinking is I can improve my take off and engine performance but not so easy with the brakes . For handling they are just different the ADV seems more stable but quicker turning than the People. The people is nicer for my tall skinny fit I like an upright position, that makes me feel more like a road bike than the ADV . Also I like the flat floor better my big feet fit on the bike better . In the looks department I think the ADV with the bar’s exposed and 2 headlights and the accessories added on it looks better
My next ride was on my KTM 390 Adventure and my son’s Honda NC750 and I’ll tell you one thing the scooters are definitely more fun !

Try some lighter rollers or sliders and let me know the difference. I'm going to install Dr. Pulley sliders in mine but will wait until I tear it down to determine what weight I want. I've had good luck with previous Kymcos going 1 to 1 1/2 gram lighter.

Technical | How To / ABS light
« on: June 16, 2024, 12:47:29 PM »
I have a new ('23) People S 150i ABS. When I start it up all the warning lights go out except the ABS. If I let the scooter idle the ABS light stays on. Once I start to take off then it goes out. Is it normal to stay on when idling during start up?

Technical | How To / Dr Pulley sliders
« on: June 15, 2024, 10:26:36 AM »
Well I finally got everything done on my new People S 150. The last mod will be Dr. Pulley sliders. I'm going to take the scooter apart first to see exactly what weight rollers are in it. Then I'll probably order sliders that are 1 or 1 1/2 oz lighter for better city acceleration. My question is where to buy them to get the fastest shipping time. I'm leaving the scooter apart until the new sliders come. I want the least amount of down time possible. Looking for vendor suggestions.

Does anyone have any experience with S100 Total Cycle Cleaner? I've been watching You Tube videos, and there seems to be mixed opinions about it. I would use it mainly to clean the spoked wheels on my People. Is it worth trying?

Just received an E-Mail. My order was shipped today. 'll let you know when it arrives.

My order arrived today. Just about 2 weeks delivery time. They were packaged with plenty of bubble wrap and sealed up well. They survived the trip with no damage. Genuine Kymco parts (protector handle) in factory packaging. Looks like a simple 20-minute install. I'm not sure if I'm installing them clear or painting them black. Will post again with pictures after install.

That's a nice video on the People. It mentions the clear plastic hand guards. This feature is not on the American version of the People. If anyone else is interested I found this source to purchase them.
