People 250 / Re: Slow speed turning - "tracking" feel
« on: July 11, 2012, 03:25:56 PM »
that's definitely how I would describe the turning.  Of course my other bike is a Buddy 150 with 10" wheels that I can turn on a dime at 40mph, so it's bound to feel odd to me.  It may also have to do with it's relatively light weight for tall tires.  Motorcycles don't get that feel because they're much heavier.

People 250 / New to me Kymco 250...
« on: July 09, 2012, 05:42:54 PM »
so Velobuff sold me his 2006 people 250cc.  it has 33,000 km on it, and will eventually need a little maintenance.  Both he and the previous owner took great care of it, so it's in good shape!

my question is this:  the top end is a bit low (indicated 75) and I can tell there are probably flat spots on the rollers.

So, what I want to know is this:

1) what are the stock weights?

2) for those of you who have used sliders, what weights did you use?

I'm @ 180lbs, and plan to use it to sometimes carry myself and my wife 2-up.  It doesn't hit the highway often, but when I do, I'd rather it not be at the end of it's rope in case I need to move quickly.  0-60 is pretty quick and seems normal.

What weights are you putting in?

Since mine has some decent mileage on it, and won't quite get to top speed, I figured it would be rollers as a start.  Having a hard time finding the stock roller weights!

As an addendum, when going sliders would I need to add weight?
