People GT 300i / clutch plate issues

My GT300i has 2,000 miles on it and it started to stutter/shake between 7 - 10 MPH and acceleration isn't what it used to be. The dealer tells me that the clutch plates are glazed and should be replaced. Does this sound right and is it a major issue? Also are there after market heavy duty clutch plates?

So, question fellow GT300i owners. I love the Honda Sh300i but it is not available in the US, the new one just came out in Europe (). It fits a full face helmet under the seat but the engine is the same size as the old Sh300i @ 278cc.
So do you think Kymco will come out with a new People GT300i or better yet GT350i like the new Downtown (although the step through design may not handle the added power) or will Honda bring the Sh300i? Or will Kymco drop the GT300i altogether? I have found nothing online about the new People Gt300i or if it will come to the US. any thoughts or ideas...

So, the fellow at the Kymco shop told me 2 things I found odd;
1. valve adjustment is not really required
2. tire balancing is not required

Washed my GT300i today and noticed cracks on the side wall (see attached photos). How do these happen and how soon do I need to replace them? It is a 2012 with 2,008 miles on it...

I am in the market for a Hi Viz Summer jacket with some measure of protection and hope to get your thoughts on these 2 jackets (or if you have a recommendation from your personal experience). interesting video, the new Kawasaki J300 is really a Kymco Downtown 300. The presenter says (turn on subtitles in youtube) the "engine" is made by Kymco but the dash/instruments, mirrors, exhaust etc. look very much like the Downtown.
Seems like Kymco scooters are becoming the high end scooter (see the xciting 400 very nice quality) and not just a supplier of parts to BMW, Honda, Kawasaki etc...
