At least on my agility, belt size issue proved to be factory restriction.
After some tune in, got  as much as 20% top speed increase!!
I did some examination and there is a space for even bigger front variator.

A little notice: in my experience, end performance depends on belt manufacturer and their methods of measurement, belt quality,
height, width and angle(potentially good or bad acceleration, top speed...) , roller weights, clutch torque spring, generally the whole variator system set up.

Actually, it's 748 in lenght after I tape measured it.
I bought it as a 732 and there were no written dimensions on the belt itself.
Original belt was too short and stock variator had some 0.5 - 0.6 cm left to push the belt up to outer edge.
Even more on the outer fixed plate.

It's ok for stock var., doesn't touch the starter bendix.
Now, belt it traveling just to the edge as it should.
But malossi multivar is a few mm more in diameter(just like outer fixed plate pulley) and I guess I'll need even longer belt!!
Something like 752 or maybe even longer.

Someone had the same or simmilar issue?

My bad.
It seems that kymco uses D.C. cdi. Ignition system is A.C. but it's beeing converted to D.C.

Sorry again!

I have 2010 agility and cdi de-restriction procedure is the same as on any other model year. Standard cut at the back of the cdi.
Also, you can buy standard oem kymco cdi and de restrict original one. It's cheaper than buying quality aftermarket with no rev limiter.

And I'm not sure, but complete ignition system works on A.C. current. Service manual says that.

Managed to put a small double bended piece of copper plate to re-connect restrictor in cdi
and sealed with silicone. It works but it's not funny to drive with restriction again :-)

Anyway, have someone tryed 732 x 18 x 8  30' belt?

Few days ago I installed Gates with these dimensions over Malossi Multivar and 5.7 g Malossi roller weights
and it worked great after initial belt wear in.
Main torque and flying clutch spring/s are stock and works very good with this set up.

Even more constant acceleration and 5% more speed and belt is not touching elec. starter gear.

It felt like engine had no power to push rollers up.
Like running on a too light rollers. Engine rpm is high but scooter accelerates slowly.
Obviuosly some power was missing but everything ok when CDI unblocked.
Some extra power needed to push rollers like it should.

I'll try to put some grase on torquedrive and I do regular rollers cleaning or change if needed.
And I use car wash jet and degreaser to clean variator, cvt casing and cover.
I apply some grease on a kick start spring and gear inside cover and on electric starter driven gear.

Agility 50 / Re: How do you lube your parts?
« on: June 28, 2011, 03:24:03 AM »
Sorry, but I would like to add a few more things.

When I was doing oil changes at 1000 or 1500 km, all three types of oil(full syn, semi syn or mineral) had same colour.
Completely black no matter what type or grade I was using.
That brought me to conclusion that oil change frequency and grade is more important than oil type.
To me, it's important to use thick/heavy oil that breaks down slowly because this engines
runs very hot.

Few months ago, I was changing expensive Motul synthetic oil at 1400 km, and it had viscosity close to a water.
It lost almost all lubrication properties.

Engine: OMV Classic 15W-50, mineral, changed every 500 km
Final transmission: OMV Gearbox 75W-90, synthetic, changed every 1000 km
Brake cables: standard motor oil
Central/side stand and variuos chassis and body parts: high temperature resistance grease and WD 40

I don't know if last two were in question :-)

My oppinion is that full synthetic oil is too much for this engine. I tryed both fully synthetic and semi synthetic(various brands and viscosity grades from 10W-30 to 10W-60), but mineral 15W-50 with often changes proved to be the best in my case.

And about leakage, I can't see how normal fully synth oil can cause this.
Somewhere I read something about diesel oil in GY6 50cc. The thing is that oil for diesel engines has some sort of agressive sulphor cleaning additive (for older diesel engines) that could cause leaking problem on crankshaft gasket/seal on variator side.
Don't know if this is true, but I was using oil for petrol engines and had no leaking problems.

I haven't tryed racing CDI but I think it's not worth the money.
De-restricted one will be fine. Mine was hitting 7500 rpm max when was blocked and 9000 rpm unblocked(measured with rpm meter).
This is optimum for the engine to run as it should.
And it make no difference if I drive downhill or on flat road, I'm hitting max speed.

I had some issue while my original CDI was restricted: on take off from traffic lights, rollers had tendency to stick and stop pushing belt up. Rpm's was going up but no acceleration after 20 km/h. Like revving on empty. I had to twist off throttle a couple of times 'till acceleration was fine.
CDI de-restriction solved the problem and engine had more power.

Anybody had simmilar problem?

thebatman, what kind of licence is 10 $ there? moped or full motocycle?

mono, is this conductive glue you mentioned before in form of silicone that could be removed from cut
or in form of glue that hardens when dry?

if you're getting some oil on the back rim and sidewalk when parked, it could be final reduction gears oil leak.
it has nothing to do with cvt cover gasket.
Check transmission oil level. maybe it's too high, and if so, it might be leaking

It's ok by me.
I used black loctite for car engine.
Apply a thin layer on the cvt cover, put all 8mm screws and let it dry for 15-30 mins. Remove sealant residue from screw threads.
After it hardens and forms rubber like seal, install it
I also apply some motor oil on rubber spacers on cover bolts

Fair enough
That means as long as you keep your 50 cc scooter in a range of 50 - 65 km/h, you get a few warnings before seizure and a affordable fine.
I guess it's acceptable compared to 'A' licence cost :-)

Here, displacement measure expertise is done mainly on a very fast 2 strokes doing 80+(yamaha aerox, gilera runner, piaggio, etc) with resonant/open exhausts, 70 cc kits...
Even police now makes difference between 2 and 4 stroke 50 cc's.

What is top speed of your scooter?
And what is penalty if you are going faster than it is allowed?
I saw there is 25 km/h and 45 km/h restriction in benelux I think

Same here, police is authorised to take scooter to expertise if officer suspects it's modified.
But, generally they measure combustion chamber and if it is more than 49 cc, licence plate is taken off and a fine must be payed. This is done if scooter topping way over 60 kmh on speed rollers.
So, I'm not going to touch cylinder. Up to 60 kmh is tolerated because police here knows how much woulnerable scooter drivers are and how much this 10-15 km/h means to us in everyday urban driving. Car drivers often have low level of tolerance.

Anyway, all I did on mine was full de-restriction, cdi variable rpm's mod. and I tryed malossi multivar with 5.7g rollers.Everything else is stock.
Hitting well over 60(real) kmh now(a few kms less with windshield on) but 5000 +-500 rpm restriction is keeping me in range of 45 km/h.

Crossed my mind to bring back orig. cdi and variator set up(although I'm very pleased with expensive mallossi)
and install 5.5 g rollers .
Thats under 60, so, less for mods. more left for drugs :-)
