Super 8 150 / Re: New Super 8 150 but have some issues-- help!

Yeah everything works fine, thats why I know its not the battery because the lights and dashboard lights all work, the clock too.  I was told maybe to use seafoam but I used it before when I was having a throttle response issue and it didnt do anything so I actually thought it made the issue worse

I added sea foam and I had no response from the throttle when I started it 3 weeks ago and it worried me to the point of going to the dealer and they said they had to see the issue for themselves and it never did it when they were inspecting it.  KYMCO USA said it was moisture build up from the rain that had been occurring so Im unsure of seafoam

No See that's what I don't understand. It only happens when the switch is in the on position. Everyone says that shouldn't do anything but idk what I should ask the deal to do. I turn off the scooter, it is completely off and the keys are out and it still drains something because it won't start without me giving it gas. It shouldn't have any starting issues at I would think

I emailed the kymco website and asked about my idling since my rear tire rotates when it is on the center stand. I thought that this would be linked to my kill switch problem but idk. This is what he said

Kymco dealer-
When the scooter is started with a cold engine, the auto-bystarter (some
people  refer to this as the electric choke) injects extra fuel into the
carb, causing the engine to rev a little higher, which will cause the back
tire to rotate. As the engine warms up, the auto-bystarted circuit is slowly
closed and the engine returns to its normal idle speed. At this point, the
rear wheel will still rotate, but very slowly. This is why the scooter
should always be started  on the center stand and should never be left
unattended!!

Is this true?

Plus should the back wheel be turning during idle? When my scoot is on the center stand the back tire is rotating, is that bad ? Could that be linked to the starting issue?

Well then something is up with the kill switch switch because it totally drains something because it doesnt start up if I leave it in the on position for more than 20 minutes.  Some people have said its the carburator but what do I tell the dealer since I will be going for my 600 mile service in under a week.  When the bike is on the center stand the back tire is rotating, should it be doing that when it is idling?  I read somewhere that thats an issue but I dont know for sure

Whats the best kind of battery anyway because I hope my stock battery lasts me at least a year, I dont know if that is average for a scooter battery though

I dont leave it running, I left it off but with the kill switch in the on position like it is when you are riding.  The scooter isnt running, lights arent running, nothing is just that the kill switch is in the on position.  So this issue is a battery issue?  I heard switching to LED lights are better for the battery but I have no idea where to start with that.

Left it parked again and this time it was for 20ish minutes and it wouldnt start again without gas. I'm assuming that it will start up fine today but I don't think the starter switch is suppose to drain the battery. I'm so confused

What should i ask the dealer to do? I want to make sure I say the right thing since I'm going in for my 600 mile service soon. I still don't understand why the kill switch drains the battery though

Update to the situation even though no one commented, I forgot to mention that I parked my scooter and forget to switch the kill switch to "off" so it remained in the "on" position for about 2 hours.  This was enough time to fry something because it would not start unless I gave it gas.  When I went to take it to the dealer it started right up the next day, both kick and electric so the issue was fixed on its own!  Hope this helps someone!

I went to take my super 8 to the dealer and it started up fine, both kick and electric, so I rode it around and when I got back it still started up fine so I think I know what the issue was.  When the problem happened I left my scooter with the starter switch in the "on" for about two hours and when I got back thats when that issue happened.  That must of been enough to drain the battery to the point of it not having enough energy to start.  Hopefully this will help someone!  Dont leave the switch in the "on" postion when you leave it parked.

I just was wondering if there is an issue if my super 8 150 wont start unless I give it some throttle?  Both the kick start and electric start wont do anything unless I give it gas and I have never had any issues before!  My scooter was bought in Aug and only has 400+ miles on it and I dont understand why this would be happening... Any info would be greatly appreciated since I am new to this scooter world as the super 8 was my first scooter and also the first thing that I officially own.

I just bought a new 2009 Super 8 150 and everything was fine and I had the first service and everything and at about 400 miles someone told me to use the kick start to save battery and now it won't start unless I give it some throttle, both electric or kick, what could be the issue? I'm new to this scooter thing and I just want to want to make sure everything is fine!
