Xciting 500 / Underseat Light Issues
« on: November 08, 2011, 05:11:51 AM »
My light under the seat has never worked. The bulb looks ok but I replaced it anyway and still nothing. Is there a fuse somewhere for this particular light? Anything else that I am missing?

Xciting 500 / Overflowed The Gas A Tad
« on: November 01, 2011, 08:50:11 AM »
Well, Over flowed the gas a little and it looked like it dripped down and came out my parking brake lever and down the plastic under the handle bars. Problem is it looked like it made a bleached looking strip where it dripped down.

Is there a way to fix the plastic without painting it or am I stuck with a streak?
Logic would be to have semi gas resistant panels where gas might drip.  :-\

Hard to believe one slight over fill scars it for life. Anyone else experience this>?

Xciting 500 / Re: Film flaking off my windshield

well it was doing it when I got it so I too washed with a little dish soap and a shamwow. looks worse so I have no idea. The UV I dont really care about since I look over the windshield anyway. Just weird, I have never known dish soap to damage anything.

Xciting 500 / Film flaking off my windshield

Well since I got my Xciting, I have been riding it but noticed a flaking fil on the outside of it in the middle covering about a quarter to half of it. Thinking it was wax or something from someone waxing it at a carwash or something I decided to wash the bike to see if it would come off. No luck. Not sure whats happening there. Is it possibile the PO washed it with something he shouldnt of? Anyone else have this problem?

It's a 2007 that my elderly neighbor had. He bought it new and only put 50 miles on it.

I just had a Kymco Xciting 500 drop in my lap so I am a new Kymco owner in the Marble Falls Tx area. Wondering if there are others in the area.

Well spent the weekend with this thing on the highway and I must say, I was impressed. I didnt think I would be able to keep up with highway trafic but looks like I was wrong.

Xciting 500 / Hello Kymco friends
« on: October 13, 2011, 08:51:51 AM »
Just thought I would introduce myself. I just recently adopted a 2007 Kymco 500 from my elderly neighbor. I dont really know much about the scooter world. I have only ever owned motorcycles. The size of this thing really took me by surprise. I am still waiting to swap the title over and get it all street legal but having fun looking it over and sizing it up until then.

Even though it is a 2007, the thing looks brand new. My elderly neighbor only put 78 miles on it before I got it so I am thrilled that I will be the one to break it in!

I do have a few questions though:

1. Whats the deal with the 330lb capacity? I am 260. With those specs I cant even put my 80lb son on the back. Is this right? I noticed all of them have this capacity no matter the size. This thing looks plenty big enough to carry more. This is a huge concern for me. Thoughts?

2. I see that it requires premium 91+ fuel. Anyone tried the regular 87, or is this just one of those "must use the best" kind of deals? Anyone notice a difference?

3. There is a light that keeps coming on on dash. The book says it is saying that the seat isnt fully locked even though it is. Is there a way to adjust the sensor? It goes off when i sit on it but comes on when I get off.

4. There is a light under the seat but it isnt working. I dont know how to get to it. Is there an easy way I dont know about?

I am sure I will have more questions when I start crawling more through this thing but I am glad to be here and glad I found this place.
