O.k., here is a picture. I don't know what the point with the pink oval is.. The hose labeled with a red square is the skinnier hose of the two next to each other, in front. The yellow hose is the fattest one. The hose labeled in green had a oily film coming out of it, so I guess that was the oil connection, that one had a natural curve to it, so I connected that to the curved tube, but I could be wrong. I also have a U shaped hose with one longer and slit side, so as to let something in or out.. Can you please let me know what goes where?

Thank you

Hi guys,

being the lazy man I am, I didn't take a picture of the hoses connected to my 2013 Kymco Super 8 2T, when I took it off the bike for jetting and now I can't seem to figure out what goes where. I'm not quite sure which hose is the fuel line, oil line, and whatever else line. Can someone please help me out or take a picture for me, explaining what to connect where? I looked around online, but didn't find anything specific for this model. Thank you!

Super 8 / Help me tune my bike KymcoForum! :) Carb Tuning!
« on: April 15, 2013, 01:19:27 PM »
Hey guys,

I've been getting into the mechanical aspect of powered bikes more and more these days. I started off with mountain bikes, but seeing as how I need to get around, I definitely need to understand performance issues. I recently purchased a new exhaust, (Leo Vince ZX-R) along with a main jet kit, Stage 6 air filter, BR8HIX iridium spark plug, and Polini race variator. My main jet is currently a 70, with stock settings and a normal air box. What main jet should I upgrade to, with the listed upgrades, to get me started? I know you are supposed to do spark plug color checks while tuning and all that, but I need a good size to start with, so that I can get to work in the meantime. I am looking for smooth and steady acceleration and a high top end for longer distances. If you have any tips about this topic, I would greatly appreciate your input.

Thanks, RJ

P.S. - The main jet sizes I have to work with, include 82, 85, 87, 90, 92, and 95

I ended up getting the pipe you included in the link. Of all the ones I checked out, that one seemed to be most appealing, visually. I also like the Tecnigas TREK, but that one was nowhere to be found.. The other Tecnigas models seemed to have no life..

That one looks sick, but I wish they had it in chrome :( Keep us posted! :)

What aftermarket exhaust would you suggest for a Kymco Super 8 2T for a drastic increase in power? I'm looking at the Tecnigas Next R chrome pipe or TREK chrome pipe.. What are you using now? Please feel free to include pics and share your setup details :)

Super 8 / Re: 2013 2T Stock Exhaust Derestriction - Pics of progress

It looks good, but turned out to be a idiotic decision on my part. Welding would cost a good $250 and bring me a lot more labor.. Guess I have to leave this for another time lol.. I'm getting a new exhaust, f*** this haha..

24
That was my guess.. It seems like there is only one restriction in the transmission, (besides the exhaust) particularly the variator roller. It doesn't have a problem to get up to 35, but once I hit that I hear a terrible grinding noise, which is the restrictor kicking in, blocking the full action of the variator.. I have a new derestricted roller coming in..

Super 8 / 2013 2T Stock Exhaust Derestriction - Pics of progress
« on: April 10, 2013, 02:29:44 AM »
This is the stock exhaust. I chose to cut all the bs off of it, remove the flat black, and polish it out. I'm taking it to get welded tomorrow, after removing the blind pipes, adding a new exit pipe, and sanding it down a bit. After welding is done, I will do fine sanding and buff this thing out. I did some light mods to the bike (Iridium spark plug, derestricted variator roller, and I'm still working out how to mod the stock CDI) and should get an extra 10 - 15 mph out of it.. I will post more pics as I progress..

Seems like I have you guys stumped lol ;D

Hi guys,

I'm working on modding a 2013 Kymco Super 8 2T. The changes I've done to it require me to derestrict it as well, in order for it to run correctly. I understand that on previous years models you are supposed to cut one of the two pink wires coming out, in the third row from the left. The thing about the 2013 CDI, is that the third row does not contain any wires. Does anyone know how you go about derestricting this CDI in particular, without me having to wait another 3 weeks before a race CDI would come in? I really need this mod for my daily commute.

Thanks!!
