General Discussion / Re: convert to led turn signals

It's been a long time now but I distinctly remember swapping three pin units out for generic two pins units, but I can't remember what the third pin was supposed to do now. Perhaps it was a ground?

I wish I could remember more! Have you got the single turn lamp on the dash? A lot of people get caught out by that, but it can be navigated around by using a pair of diodes :)

General Discussion / Re: Classic Bike Insurance

That'd be good wouldn't it!

Turns out that I can now have classic insurance because I'm over 30 years old... whereas before I owned the same two bikes but was ineligible for classic insurance... it's a funny old system :D

depends on what business your in, I'm already getting increase calls to design replacements for failing septic systems (maybe they are flushing too much TP) I'm trying to be retired

my friend, in the printing business is going crazy with new orders to print virus info etc for customers from banks, hospitals, municipalities, another friend in the same business, but not self employed is putting in just as much overtime, printing books for Amazon  cause of the deluge of new orders mostly due to all the home schooling

Your point is a good one - I used to be a courier and they are madly busy at the moment, if highly exposed.

My respnse is a little cocky but as a nation US there is a panic way out of proportion to the threat thanks to the media and many, really....ah....limited people.

I do agree with a point here - media hype has been unhelpful at best.

This is crazy and unnecessary.

It's crazy and necessary.

**EDIT** realised that a simple statement with no backup really isn't helping the debate very much.

The virus hospitalised one in seven people who catch it. From what I gather, your healthcare system is quirkier than ours and ours is already creaking at the seams.

On average, it infects 2.1 (I think, or 2.4) people per infected person. Standard winter flu is about 1.2ish. If you type 1 in your calculator, multiply it by 2 and keep pressing the equals button, you'll get a better visual representation of why the difference between 2.1 and 1.2 is so critical in this debate.

I know it's hard on the self-employed, and my heart goes out to them. I've been self employed for a good chunk of my life and I am very grateful that I no longer am, and have a very understanding employer who will keep paying me so I can keep paying the rent.

Perhaps the states will fare better - you are much less densely populated than us - but do take it seriously. I gather a fair few forum members are over 70 and are very susceptible to pneumonia if they contract this. I'd hate to see any forum members go over a blasé faire attitude to something that is a serious thing.

No walkies for us today - we are all in lockdown in the UK.

What's the original one look like?

I believe in the UK the wide track version of it skirts around needing an MC license.
In WA, land of politicians who obviously know bikes, You're required to either do your MC test on it (they give you an extra piece of paper that you must carry...) or have a trike endorsement...It's of note that if you apply anything from riding a trike to an MP3 you will wreck...
Still they trike/sidecar endorsement class gave me a weekend riding someone else's bikes on  a close course for cheap so it wasn't a complete waste.

For some people, yeah - our licensing laws have tightened up a lot in the past 10 years.

I'm guessing you mean USD? Meh, it's not cheap enough to warrant a shot in the dark.

To be honest, I'm not sure the recovery from 2008 has really happened as such, and this is demonstrating very clearly how thin the margins on which people make a living are.

My sister-in-law has been let go this morning; a chef. A friend of mine's business is about to slide on account of reduced studio bookings over the last fortnight. We're about to feel the ramifications.

If you can find a derestricted CDI you shouldn't need to cut any wires.

Without meaning to sound difficult, that entirely depends on how much money... is it cheap?

I don't know anything about Kymco CDIs I'm afraid. Might be worth calling your dealer up and asking if they can get you an unrestricted one - the answer may well be "no" though!

If people simply didn't hord there would be pleanty . I blame the news media for creating the hording situation. Never let a crisis go to waste is the news motto.

Went to get frozen veggies but the only thing left was lima beans.

You are so, so right.

We have three week's worth of food or so here. Haven't felt the urge to go and buy more...

The Piaggio ones - the MP3s - weren't great bikes.

The newer ones make fantastic delivery vehicles :)
