General Discussion / Re: What do you wear to protect your Noodle?
« on: July 01, 2011, 11:37:24 PM »
Yeah, except when I said round the neighborhood thats literally what I meant.

My wife and I drive around our side streets.... very little traffic... more likely to get hit by a person running or walking their dog than a car.

actually she drives the kymco 50cc without a helmet
I am required to wear a helmet because my bike is 150cc

I can get a chrome exhaust that looks similair to a leo vince for £45, about $70. Just not sure how good/bad it would be, maybe try it if I cant afford the Leo, its really just cosmetic anyway for me since I like the looks and noise, dont think either will offer any gains in speed really.

No cash right now anyway, holidays and the £135 I spent this week on new Bridgestones has wiped me out for now.

You have a link to that exhaust?
As you know the more air in the more fuel you can add... but you also need to get that air out, a good exhaust can make a nice performance difference... so its not purely cosmetic.

Update....
Just got my #85 Keihin Jet to replace my #88 jet from Tapai
You could tell the quality of this jet... however the hole looked smaller than my #82 that was stock.
I figured what the heck and changed it anyways...

I was so happy to see the spedo hit 40mph I almost crashed.

Got home and decided to put the GPS on there and verify, and guess what.....

34MPH!!   YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME!

Im thinking of going back to the 7g rollers that were in there.... 5g Koso sliders might be a little too light.
Ill let you know the next time I feel like taking that CVT cover off

Ive seen some cheaper mods that can be done with Briggs and Stratton Exhausts for under $50.00 that look pretty cool
Hard to put $300 into an exhaust if you ask me.

Wow...good thing I read this all the way thru, I was dead set against the polini until I realized you were having an interfearance issue.

Just curious, what did you end up doing?
I am in the same boat, but not really wanting to go with the polini because of the few reviews on here werent that good.

I like the full kit idea because everything should be designed to work with one another.
I think the heavier rollers are a good idea as long as you have a higher tension torque spring.
The reason 5g are good rollers is because of the weak spring, if you went to a 1500 or 2000 you would need to go heavier on the rollers to get the variator to expand fully.

General Discussion / Re: Warning Kymco difficult to find parts
« on: July 01, 2011, 06:19:21 PM »
Kymco USA is crap for parts and service.
The dealer where you buy is normally not much of a help either because they are too busy selling motorcyles.

Some great reputable online vendors incude:
scooterdynasty
enviromoto
provoscooters
tapai scooter assasins
partsforscooters
EBAY:
scrappydogscooters (talk to MO)
daywot

I have bought from them all and enjoyed talking or emailing everyone of them, very helpful and friendly.
Shipping from tapai is a little slow thru no fault of their own.

I too like the larger tires, they feel safer and look cooler.
my 50cc Kymco Super 8 looks damn cool compared to my 150cc chinascoot

Too bad it only LOOKS faster!

Yeah, I dont suggest flip flops
I noticed the top two things you always see people wearing on bikes is Helmet (probably because required by law) and gloves.

The rest can get pretty expensive, but I see riders all the time in tank tops and shorts but they are still wearing the gloves.
Probably because your hands are going to take the worst beating as you go down.

Also I dont agree on the not if, but when... If you listen to that previous post and always drive like you are invisible you will be alright, just never think that someone else sees you and your safe.  IE  dont get cocky

Matte White & Grey Scorpion EX) 700 with a mirror blue faceshield.
So bad I wish I could post pictures of it.

However the only thing I dont like is its hard to talk to another rider if your just going for a casual drive.
I need to get a open face helmet as well for driving around the neighborhood.

Awesome... More air = more power... I love it.
Forget drilling holes,
Time to take that stock airbox off and install a free flow streido!
