Dee Dee. The X500 is bigger. You can really stretch out on it. I have sat on a 300 and I can not put my feet out in front of me. 0-60 MPH about the same on the 500 & 300, but the passing power of the 500, and ability to haul 2 people plus or minus luggage is where the 500 hands down beats the 300. I like the 300, but with my back problems I could not ride it very far with out having to take many breaks. And since my wife rides with me sometimes, the 300 just doesn't work in my situation. I wish they would bring in the 400? :-*

No fairing, no lowers, no storage, you are bent forward over the handle bars, and the foot pegs are high and behind you! I could not ride it across the street. And I can tell you from looking at it that the seat would be horrible. No thanks. :-*

The Dr P sliders were 31 gram. The problem was that some how they would lock up, or get stuck in the ramps of the inner variator plate/half? This would put side pressure on the boss, cause heat build up, and there went your belt.  :'( :-*

777, let me know if you can find someone to do so. And DD, I have thought of J B Weld. But if it came off while in operation, it could destroy my engine if it came apart.  :'( :-*

Tried Dr Pulley sliders, variator exploded, as it did with many other Xciting 500 owners. Dr P pulled them from market. They just don't/won't work with the X500 without major problems? Dr P makes a round 31 gram, but that's all I could find on market. I don't have equipment nor knowledge to shave pulley half's.  :-*

Xciting 500 / Rollers
« on: March 13, 2016, 12:03:00 AM »
The weight of my rollers on my 2007 carbed X500 is 30 grams. I have heard that the newer bikes have gone to 33 grams. Is this true? I called the importer, and he said they didn't know, and that Kymco does not have or will not give out this info :o ??? Does anyone know? Or can someone weigh one? This would really lower my RPM's at 65-75 MPH. Does any other company make roller weights for the Xciting 500 other than Dr Pulley? The size is 28x22 at 30 grams. I may be looking at buying a new bike in the future, and I would like a bike that is pulling less RPM's at free way speeds. The 33 gram weights may do the trick? It would be nice to stay with another Xciting 500 :-*

The burger 400 has it's good points such as gas mileage, and more under seat storage. but the xciting 500 has a better ride, more power, 15 & 14 inch tires vs 14 & 13 inches etc.  :-*

I don't know? I have an 07 carb model. I have asked before, but everyone seems to mostly commute or scoot around town. Does anyone know what the MPG is at a steady 65 or so?  :-*

What advantages does this brisk plug have over a stock plug other than no re-gapping? Better MPG/ Power? :-*

EX-ACT-LY. Who wants it if you can't ride it. Shame, it's a nice bike. Low to mid 50's MPG on HWY, good power etc. They screwed the pooch on this one. Wish they would bring in 400.  :-* I love my xciting 500, but I wish they could get more MPG out of it, and put in a bigger gas tank. No range at all. Often I read where people who have Suzuki and yamaha 400 scooters often get 60 plus MPG while touring? Sad. :-*

I bought an electric impact wrench at harbor fright. Very cheap. It does the job very well.  :-*
