I usually drive 150+ km/h on the highway. Limit is 130 and I pass others without problems.

Wow! 150 plus!! I get 140km max

Downtown 300 / Bike Broke Down! :(
« on: July 17, 2019, 05:13:33 AM »
Hey yesterday my bike stalled on the highway.  Tried to start it and it would start and than die so I figured I may need gas but I still had two bars left on the meter indicating I was good but still got some and it started and stayed going after a little pumping of the gas.  But! it is making a very strange sound, seems to be vibrating more than usual and when in idle state it moves forward!! It seems to be idling faster to. What is it?

did a little run on 5the 401 highway about 100 km.  followed the cars at 120 to 140 km.s  my tach.  read 6000 rpm to 6500.rpm. at 120 kmph. that is with the modifiyed variator I filed 5 years ago.,  not bad for a couple of hours work,  with the variator out of the scooter, with no cost,.  except for the belt file I bought ,  1/2 " wide just right size  for the variator ,.  I found out it is what malossi speed variator does with there units,  they must have coppied my work,  HA HA

Ha Ha yes.  I am now about 6500 rpm at 120km's :D

;)

Now I can chill and get ready for my 700km trip to my Mom and Dads at the ending of this month.   Only thing I have to wait to do is my oil change.  I am waiting on the oil-filter bolt to come in before I have the boys rip of the other one.  I won't make the mistake again of ever using the wrong wrench.  I know in the beginning I was using whatever I could get my hands on.  Silly woman but lessened learned.   I  now have the proper socket.

Yeah, remeasure a good idea. I am sure you either missed a zero: 1004 mm or 1040 mm. 104 mm would be a donut 1.33 inches in diameter!

 :D :D :D

No, no, NO! Length, width, angle! 1003 mm string around outside of belt, 25 mm wide ruler ACROSS the belt and 30 degree included angle of the truncated wedge of the belt you-can't-measure-unless-you-got-a special-tool-that-ain't-issued-to-gifted-painters! There ya go!

Good understand. I think mine is pretty good than.  I know the width is for sure 25mm or wee more could be.  I think yeah I had 104 in length.  I am going to check again.

Now this thread is really getting interesting. I always thought scooters are only for people who like cruising at mild speed but I clearly got it all wrong lol

Ha Ha Yes I am mild and always slow intown and always stay far back from everyone watching every move everyone makes but  I tell ya when I hit the highway I like to open it up in safe areas and if I am passing which has to happen at times I like to have the leverage if need be!! zoom zoom! :D

I found a measure from mitsuboshi  they said it is    1004  MM. /  25.2  MM.  with 30 degree wedge,
of all the belts I have bought they never met those measures,  but were close, one belt came with new scooter was 1010 mm.  most were 1004 mm.  but were 24 mm. wide, and they all worked

Thanks DeDee and Karl :D Happy Kat. Grateful!!

1003 x 25 x 30 mm.....

Oh is that 30 mm wide and 25 mm high?  If that is the case mine is 25mm wide!!! and I know it isn't 30mm high!

I think a belt that is too long will give you higher engine rpm and yours is over an inch too long (if I got the dimensions right!).

OK so I need to find out what the stock belt measures.  Do you know Karl :)
