Looking nicely Autumnal there Stig. Been white over with frost and sub zero c over here for the last few days so the XT300 safely tucked up in the garage. Maybe later today?

Magic Eraser.  Don't think it will scratch, but try a small area near the bottom to be sure.
Thanks MB, I’ll try.

Wet towel, soaking on shield.
Yep, that’s been my go to method in the past. Just wondered if there are any higher tech answers out there... [emoji23]

On a separate, but related matter, anyone got any product recommendations for removing bug squash off the OE screen without scratching it?

Good to hear the report on the RainSeal Stig, it’s on my short list for a Spring buy. I fear my winter riding will be dry day outings only!  The amount of road grit/salt they spread on our roads plays havoc with the alloys used on even scooters. The Triumph won’t be out until the Spring.

Triumphs nice to look at, horrible to own when ridden a lot (20-30.000 miles a year)  they shook them selves apart---I know I had new '61 TR5AR 500 cc, 1962 new 6T Thunderbird, actually nice bike, but too many design draw backs....and things not worked out by maker.   The British bike industry got what it deserved...death.

Honourable exception being the Hinckley reincarnation of the Triumph marque! I’ve owned various models since the mid-90’s and they have been full of character, largely fault-free and a joy to own. Current Trumpet is a 2012 Street Triple R and it does everything that I need.

80, working on 81 does not seem to bother me.

John, you are an inspiration to all us youngsters! Long may your wheels turn buddy.

Was quite fond of the Velocette Thruxton in its day, but loved the Trumpet too

Well until reading that Stig, I’d have made the same assumption as you! Every day’s a school day. [emoji23]

No, not ticketed.  Didn't call Police.  Usually if Policeman hasn't seen the incident, no ticket.  TN has low driving standards---so lots of idiots driving.
Not just Tennessee John. We have far too many drivers here in the UK who think it’s an acceptable risk to drive with a mobile phone clamped to their ear! We used to have more traffic cops to enforce traffic laws, but not now so drivers think they’ll not be caught.  Makes for a riskier ride for us on 2 wheels though.
