Hmm, maybe I should get a muffler and do the air filter then. That way I can do the jetting once.

And if I'm going to go through the work of jetting, maybe I should go with a bigger carb...

this is my dilemma!

Do the Dr. Pulley weights work in the Malossi Multivar? I have one coming from Europe along with an air filter to get rid of my air box. Should I be re-jetting when I do the filter?

Top speed with:Leo Vince TT,multivar,Malossi wingbell,RMS clutch

88.3km/h

Had you changed the jets at this point?

I'm using whatever the larger jet is that comes with the factory derestriction kit.

I also have the 2011 super 8 2t, What i have found is no one really has experience with this new of a bike. Although, I havent done them myself. I hear that a racing variator, and new rollers goes a long way. The stock exhaust we have...from what i hear is suppose to be restricted by a welded on bolt or washer at the begining of the exhaust pipe.  a flat boss. with out the shoulder, and and up jet will get you to 32mph flat-40 mph down hill. that is what mine currently does WITH OUT any other restrictions being modified.
I know this wasnt much of a helpful post. But there is another person here looking for answers with you... ME.. haha. anything you find or i find i will post.

THanks,

s37en

As you can see, my US spec Super 8 2t has no washer welded into the exhaust. I also do not have the extra wires on the CDI. I'm hoping to get a few MPH out of her... guess I've got to start buying some parts...

My scooter came delivered with the non restricted boss and jet already installed. I was given the stock parts in a plastic baggie.

Apparently the scooter is different depending on where it is sold. I was hoping to remove the wire from the harness and get a few more MPH out of it but when I opened her up, this is what I found:

Seems that my Super 8 2t has no CDI restriction.

Let me know how the exhaust gasket helps out. I'll consider it if it's noticeable. I'm actually pretty happy with the scoot the way it is. Top speed is about perfect, I'm just looking to get there a bit quicker and hold speed on the uphill better.

Yeah, my scoot is definitely breaking in. I'm seeing 37-40 on the flats and even slight incline. I hit 42 on a flat on my way home from work today. I've seen a touch over 45 on a downhill. This is all indicated, so it could be a tad less.

i have a  2 stroke  super 8 50. the stock jet  was a  70,  so i put  in the one  that came with it(80). I can feel the difference but still have a hard time going past 30 mph. im going to put in a clutch kit and change the boss. Now im scared to cut the CDI(from what i am reading).

That is odd... my 2t is unchanged from how the dealer sold it to me, brand new. I am easily seeing 37 MPH into the wind on the flats and easily over 40 on the downhills.

When I visited a dealer prior to purchasing my Super 8 2t, I noticed that there was a variator boss without a step on it located inside the storage compartment.

When preparing to purchase from the dealer that is closer to me, I asked about them derestricting my scooter for me before I accept delivery. They stated that all scooters they sell are derestricted.

Sure enough, my Super 8 2t is doing 37 indicated on the flats, even into the wind. I've seen 42 on downhills and let off the throttle. Probably could see 45 or more indicated if I stay on the throttle.

I'm guessing this is the procedure for swapping out the boss: http://www.scootertherapy.com/bosspage.html

Super 8 / Re: headlight only works on high beams

I have noticed when coming to a stop, that the headlight dims. I'm guessing there is some sort of RPM or speed related switch that dims the headlight because it helps the charging system work. I'm guessing that once you start moving, you will see that the headlight will fully illuminate.
