Thanks for the indepth explanation

I didnt realize there were 2 types till this happened.

The Bajaj must have been AC since it would run on a dead battery but no lights or anything else electrical (sorta dangerous)

The Aprilia Scarabo would kick start and have lights with a dead battery

Interesting how different mfg wire their scoots differently

As a follow up to the original post.
I took my hand digital multimeter and measured the voltage of the battery. It was 12.02 V. Tried to start it and same thing, about 30 seconds of cranking and still nothing but starter motor.

Took battery down to 11.82V so I put it on a 2A 12V charger and got the voltage back up to 12.8 V.
Cranked and fired instantly.

I pulled the battery and it was the OEM Kymco battery (2019-2013= that was a hell of a battery  :) )

So the battery seemed to hold amps but not enough volts to run the ignition. New battery on the way.

BTW did you know the Hyabusa uses the same YT12A-BS  battery that came stock in the People 300?

People GT 300i / hard to start

Hi All,

I took 2 or 3 weeks off from riding my 2013 People 300i and now it takes over a minute of cranking to start.
Once running it runs fine.
I'm not getting any weird flashing of my engine light, it looks just like it used to.
It is not a cold motor thing as it behaves the same way after shutting it off for as little as 1 minute and trying to restart.

Anyone had something similar happen or can suggest a potential culprit I'm all ears.

Parked my 2013 people 300i for 2 weeks and now it takes about  full minute if cranking to start. Once it starts it runs well. This occurs when I restart after about 1 minute stopped as well.

Any one had this happen to them an can point me in the right direction?

My Bajaj came with the 35/35 H4 as well, best mod I did was swap for the 55/35 H4 out of a Volvo.

35/35 at 55mph was useless
If the LED is a hard find for the Vespa, try the Volvo H4 bulb. It literally turned night into day.[emoji16]

I'm not sure why you would want the smaller wheel?
Should think 17s so we can get access to real tires.

And increased stability. 

I got 9500 miles out of the oem Maxis rear and had a choice of 4 tires. [emoji52]
Went with Avon aramid radials instead of the four or two plies available from everyone else.

Why relegate ourselves to scooter  tires instead of embracing that we are basically motorcycles.

MXU / Rear tire change not going well

Took my People 300i to get a new rear tire installed.
They are having an issue getting the swing arm off of the axle.

Anyone have any suggestions?

I left mine down once but luckily didn't get thrown off when I leaned left. I did have to change my undies but never left it down again.
The 300i people does have the kill switch in the side stand.
I use the side stand often and for soft surfaces like gravel or asphalt in the Florida sunshine [emoji4]
  I find it better for uneven surfaces as well.

Just as note, I  used an oversize on my Scarabeo and noted these differences.

Smoothed the ride

Increased stability of the bike on rough pavement

Seemed to corner better.

Threw Speedo off a little

No change in gas mileage or acceleration.

Second part if the questions that folks seen to gave is "Do wider tires have greater rolling resistance? "

Minimal difference for one size up.
How minimal? Pro cyclists have shifted from 23mm width tires to 25mm tires. Why? Because they couldn't feel a difference in rolling resistance,  and that group wouldn't give up a quarter of a watt if you paid them.[emoji16]
