finally took scooter to local M/C repair shop and he fixed it and agreed that rear handlebar cover was a bear to get off. The slow warm up was a combination of bad fuel and cleaning the original carburetor thoroughly and resetting the jet screw. Advised to never use ethanol fuel if scooter is to sit long unused. Head light module tested bad but for $67cost of new one he saved me by bypassing the module and light now works fine. Turn signal was a loose connection and now the scooter runs like a new ride.I found a local supplier of ethanol free 89 octane and add stabil to every tankful. Since I now have a barely used complete carburetor I will sell for $100. contact me here. :)

Thanks again Isahawk, I have followed all your directions and the illustrations in the Cyclopedia manual and still cannot get the cover over the bolt receivers that you describe in your reply. Not wanting to break the cover by forcing it I have turned it over to a repair shop. I am not at all sure it is the bulb for either the turn signal or the headlight as they both went dead after the carburetor replacement and both the front AND rear left TS went out. There is mention of a headlight control module and since the other issue (Auto Bystarter) are both electrical I suspect there is a global problem in the electrical system. I do appreciate your replies and will update forum if the cure is found. :-\

People s200 / rear handlebar cover on 2008 People S 200

I cannot get the handlebar cover off to service the headlight and turn signals. I had a post say to give a mighty pull after taking out all 6 screws and bolts which I did but to no avail. I don't want to break the cover and Kynco has not responded to my email request for help. Does anyone have a clue on this?

Thanks Iahawk, I will give that a try. I am always afraid of muscling on plastic parts for fear of breaking them and then big costs to replace them. Why would Kymco make it so hard to get to the headlight and instruments panel?

People s200 / slow warm up

:( I installed a new carburetor on my 2008 Peoples S 200 and put in a new spark plug. I was hoping  to eliminate the very slow warm up time before the engine could take any throttle. Still have that problem. It seems like an electrical choke issue but since the carb was new I thought that would solve the problem. It did not! Engine will start instantly but won't take throttle for at least 10 minutes of idle time. Any suggestions?

???I installed a new carburetor on my '08 Peoples S 200 and after re-installing the covers and starting up engine the headlight would not come on and right front turn signal has no voltage. I tried to take off the rear handlebar cover and with all tabs unfastened as per repair manual the windshield came off easily but the rear cover would not detach from frame. Any suggestions ?
