General Discussion / KYMCO Like motor scooter braking system
« on: September 22, 2017, 04:09:19 PM »
Hi All,

Im looking for information on the KYMCO Like motor scooter braking system, the 200i is my focus at the moment.

The   KYMCO Like 200i motor scooter braking system is based on a single front and rear disc brake rotor with a 2 pot caliper.

Is the braking system a  KYMCO in house design or an OEM off the shelf product ?

You and I think alike in many ways, When it comes to matters like these I assume any guide provided by a company is geared in a way to make more money for the company, It seems not when it comes to tyres.

That being said, when I only have 2 tyres, I want them to be as fresh rubber as I can get hold of, I really believe old stale tyres cost lives

Gday All,

Can somebody point out a website that ships Michelin power pure SC  dual tread compound tyres to the state of Michigan in the U.S.A?

Im not looking for a place that has old stale rubber, Im hunting fresh dual tread compound tyres in sizes for a

Kymco Like 200i motor scooter or Honda Grom motorcycle

Front 120/70-12, Load index 58 (236kg), Speed rating P (150km/h)

Rear 130/70-12 reinforced ,    Load index 62 (265kg),   Speed rating P (150km/h

If you know a better motor scooter tyre than Michelin power pure SC  dual tread compound that matches or exceeds those technical specifications please feel free to post a link to the website

General Discussion / Motorcycle helmet mounted video cameras
« on: April 03, 2017, 10:48:19 AM »
So Im thinking its time to buy a motorcycle helmet mounted video camera, something that records to micro sd card, say a 64gb speed class 10

is weather proof, so I can ride with it in the rain

uses a common battery, like a Panasonic NCR 18650 3400mAH 3.7 V Lithium Rechargeable Battery, so I can replace it in a year or 3

Id like it if it could use the bluetooth mount thats built in to my motorcycle helmet

1080P looping recording resolution would be good

what else should I be looking for?

This looks interesting!

http://www.opt-7.com/fluxbeam-motorcycle-led-headlight/

Although the warranty looks dodgy

"OPT7 happily accepts returns for most orders up to 60 days after the original purchase date.
Please note, the return shipment tracking must show "Delivered" to OPT7 prior to the expiration of the 60 day return period."

http://www.opt-7.com/warranty/

Why would I, the  potential customer care when the shipping company gets its job done? as long as its lodged by the date, the  customer should be fine.

My Kymco MyRoad 700i uses 3 H7 bulbs (2 for low and 1 for high relying on different shaped reflectors to get the light where needed).

I'm not sure on the Kymco bikes in other markets but the Suzuki Burgman 650's use different bulbs overseas vs the US market.

I never thought different countrys would demand different light bulbs!

You may well be right with the  KYMCO AK550 being an integrated LED headlight, but it never hurts to ask  ;D

Has anybody used a JW Speaker Headlight Kit - Conversion, LED, H4, 12-24v, 6000K or something similar ?

http://www.supercheapauto.com.au/Product/JW-Speaker-Headlight-Kit-Conversion-LED-H4-12-24v-6000K/523563

3 year warranty from a local bricks and mortar store or ebay china happy fun times

I know this sounds strange, but how much riding do you guys do in the snow?

It looks Michelin like thinks theres so many people riding in the snow they made a tyre for it!

MICHELIN City Grip Winter tyres

General Discussion / Re: No Kymco Presence in Nevada
« on: March 03, 2017, 01:31:55 PM »
Hello fellow Kymco Riders:

The Vegas in dealer for Kymco has closed. With the new scooter law that passed

Gday, Im not from your neck of the woods, can you tell me how it was under the OLD law in Nevada, USA?

To take off the rear wheel on a KYMCO Like 200i motor scooter and change the tyre.

Special tools you will need: torque wrench, if you dont have one, dont even start!

Other things you will need: correct  torque wrench settings, so you dont die.

Caution, the left hand side of your  KYMCO Like 200i motor scooter is all CVT, the right hand side is where you change the wheel and tyre.

Also, the KYMCO Like 200i motor scooter is fitted with EFI, dont damage the O2 sensor when you remove the exhaust system muffler

Its a very good idea to take photographs as you work, just in case.

Im sure youll be fine on the Michelin City Grip  motor scooter tyres, Id say theres less than 20% diffrence between them and the dual tread compound Michelin Pure Power SCs

What country do you live in?

The best motorcycle tyres you can get are  dual tread compound.

having 2 tread compounds means the motorcycle tyre can be soft and sticky on the outside for corners AND firmer in the middle for longer tread life  and higher mileage!

these hi tech tyres are still fairly new in the motorcycle  world and are only lately available to motor scooters

they are  like 2 tyres in 1!

I LOVE my Michelin power pure sc motor scooter tyres!

the Michelin city grips are very good, but after trying both, Im sticking to the Michelin power pure sc motor scooter tyres!

Remember to get the best Load index AND Speed rating  you can for you new motor scooter tyres, your life depends on it.

The Michelin power pure sc  tyre is also the best tyre for Honda Grom  motorcycles Front 120/70-12 Load index 58 Speed rating P
Rear 130/70-12 reinforced ,    Load index 62    Speed rating P
