Agility 125 / Re: Another Question About Sliders.
« on: November 01, 2010, 08:48:39 AM »
Im running 11g Dr Pulley sliders and can do nothing but highly reccomend them. I have just fitted a set to my bw100 in 5g and reckon they are the best bang for buck in the way of simple upgrade mods. With the new Yamaha scooter I just got, first day of ownership I changed the springs to 2000rpm and fitted the new sliders. I reckon they are a given not an option, in that the first thing that should be done on any scooter in this mod.

Mmmmmmm, 2 scoot could just be the beginning. I want a big scoot, like a 650 or 500, as I love the big single dirt bikes.....

You wouldnt believe it, but after I got my agility my 45+ boss bought a beewee100 scooter! I got to admit when I first heard it fire up I loved the sound of the 2 stroke ticking over, and secretly wanted another 2 stroke myself. Anyway, I was watching one on Ebay this week, and stuck a bit on one with a shot clutch/variator for $400 in Townsville, northern QLD and Im on the west coast of southern Vic. Low and belhold, I won the bloody thing! Its on the other side of the country, but I work in Transport, so have arranged to get it home for $200 cash. I reckon by the time I replace the buggered parts with decent stuff, and get it on the road, it will owe me less than $1000, and I reckon thats bloody brilliant! is does have 30,000km on the clock so I might give her a freshen up anyway, but will see what its like when it turns up. Its been owned since new by an elderly gent so Im fairly sure it wont be bad anyway. Obviously I have been snopoping around looking at what I can do to get it kicking, and looks like I might fit a new pipe at the same time, as they reckon with the rollers and usual mods they respond really well! So yep, its now a 2 scoot home, and my mrs wont ride.....yet! Maybe this will tempt her!

Hey, I had the exact same issue, and found that if I removed the sidecover and cleaned out the dust from the belt etc, it went away! A few others had the same experience, so maybe try that first then make your changes....That said, the springs and rollers make a better ride anyway, so worth making the changes.

I had 3 fords as company cars in the past, and both employers se=worn off them now. All Holden and Toyota without a single ford in either fleet.... better resale for the holdens too! Plus I own a clubsport and commodore ute so am a little biased as well!
I gather your a ford man, and wont make this a "them/us" thread...

Well F^ck me sideways! Did an upgrade to the pc, lost the password and I couldnt get back on and have finally got thru!!!

New password set and rolling again baby!

Ok in answer to some of your questions, work got really busy, and it got cold and wet, and the scoot hasnt moved any further than the last update. I did split the block and machined the housings and ready to go back together again, and now that its stopped raining, am planning on taking next Sat off work to get her rolling again.

In relation to my name, it actually relates to my Mrs car, she has an early Celica that we fitted a twin cam twin turbo efi 6 import motor into (1GGTE and Supra box)), and has the rego plates "TOPAZ6" and being a turbo, just seems to fit ok. Its out ebay name and everything. Just simpler that way.....

How the hell has everyone been? Much happening here or what? I nearly bought a 250cc scoot a couple of weeks back, but decided to get back on mine, and am looking to buy a late model Holden Commodore ute, to replace my early model Commodore ute. I WONT OWN A FORD SO DONT INSULT ME!!!

Good to be back....

General Discussion / Re: ..average km per day
« on: May 23, 2010, 01:43:45 AM »
I was averaging 56km a day until I pulled it down for the upgrade. My average is falling rapidly, and have been off the road for nearly a month now. It sucks as just this week there have been total white out frosts, so its not going to be fun at 5am when I do get it on the road again.....But damn I miss it!

Well the housings are nearly finished being machined to 65.5mm so hopefully with time allowing I will start getting it back together this week coming. My head is just back from the porters, and looks so nice all ported and cleaned up. He took a fair bit out just in from the bowl and cleaned the whole lot up, so keen to see how it works when its on the bike. He said even though it was classified as a big port head there was still room for improvement and that he spent nearly 3 hours cleaning and changing the ports. If this thing doesnt rotate the earth on an eneven axis when I get ity back together I wont be happy!

Yep, but I would look to 2000 springs if I was to do it again. This was an absolute blast around town in this form, screamed to about 80km really quickly and was perfect in town, but wasnt the best on the open road, and I do about 50km a day open road, hence my upgrade to the bigbore kit. That said, I weigh 120kgs and 6ft tall, and even then I could wheel stand away from the lights in that form. It was great fun, just I wanted more! Great package though on a budget if thats what your after.

Search for this seller top366tw  or this item 140345150879. They are who I always get mine thru. I have had 13,12,11,10 and reckon the 11s are the best comprimise. I also had 1500 springs and an aftermarket pipe with a 110 main jet and pod filter. Was a good thing, but more is always bekoning. I have just dropped the big port head to a mate who races bikes, and he is playing with the porting a little more for me. I cant wait to ride my scoot again, Im really missing it.....

I buy my sliders direct from Taiwan and they cost me $22 Australian delivered to my door. Once you have done them once, you will find it so simple. Its an easy change, but I would suggest changing your springs at the same time to either 1500rpm or 2000 as that will also help. Didnt loose any top end, and really woke my scooter up. I could then wheelstand away from the lights if I wanted to with just those changes.

Mario, factory in mine was 13 g, go for a set of dr pulley 11g sliders and you will be getting off your scooter with a boner eveytime! Perfect set up for our scooter. Ive tried 10g and 12 g and the 11gs are a perfect weight, and Im 6 foot and 120kgs, so the little scooter is working when Im on it!
