Agility 50 / Re: Topping up oil
« on: January 19, 2012, 02:13:33 PM »
i think all of them like to eat oil. in fact they don`t eat it, i think it evaporates or something like that because i never saw any smoke from the exhaust.

i also change it at 2000km but with some types of oil after 2000 km it`s almoust dry inside if you don`t check it :)
so get used to check it often and topp it and don`t worry for the ride with -150ml engine is still very strong.

after some kms the belt runs much better now! the take off is smoother (the belt sticks better on the parts) and the top speed is again around 75km/h and 80km/h downhill. What i like now is that no matter how hard i accelerate the transmision doesen`t vibrate anymore. I can still hear a whistle in my transmision but it sounds nice and i don`t think it`s something bad.

CHECK OUT THIS BELT SPECS:

-the kymco manual says the OEM belt 17.5mm wide but not the lenght of it
-i measured the old OEM belt and it`s ~746 (maybe i have a bad tool or the belt streched over time)

so malossi 743 is a bit wide but the lenght is ok (maybe it`s designed for the white spring that omes with malossi multivar)

i can`t imagine how a 729 belt even with the right wide, cand give you full variator surface rising.

next thing i`ll do if i raise money is o buy malossi multivar with 4.5-5g rollers

i had a noise like that too .. to be honest 2 times !
the scooter was ok, the nr.1 problem was the center stand! after i took it off i liked so much the scooter sounded that i only put i back 2-3 days after.
the second problem was one bolt from the exhaust. not the bolts to the cilinder but one of the bolts on the right side that was holding the exhaust in place.

check this 2 , i was in the same situation as you, teared all the parts from transmision to find this 2 sh**ty screws.

replaced my original bando belt with malossi kevlar 743 these days. and i`m not so happy. (all parts are stock)
why?

some years ago i derestricted my CDI since the scooter speed had become slower and slower to 65km/h..
after the CDI cut went 80km/h so i was very happy.
time passed and the max speed dropped to 75km/h .. nu to bad but the scooter reved hard at takeoffs and i thought it`s time to change the belt (since it was wared to 16.8mm wide from 18mm i think) and had some cracks.
so i chosed the best: malossi kevlar
now the scooter gets moving at lower rpm`s, and mentains lower rpms all the way => has a slower acceleration and the top speed is kinda worse. only downhill it hits 80km/h.... in rest 70 barely barely 75 :( PLUS shortly after engaging i fell a tremble

i need to say that i chanded the rollers from 5.1g to 6.1g (stock original) soon before getting the malossi belt.
should i try malossi belt with lighter rollers ?

:(

Agility 50 / Re: Kick starting in cold weather
« on: February 10, 2011, 10:44:25 PM »
stop kicking it like it`s a yamaha xt600 :)
you should not press hard from begining, this ruins it!  press gently to feel the compression (it`s stiffer) then apply more force.
best way is this:
with ignition off give it 2 kicks to lube the engine >> ignition on turn half throttle and kick it

but i like to think you all know this only you don`t have patience :P

hey why did you get new stock engine when you had the oportunity to freakin tune the broken old one?
or
you are going to do exactly this thing whith the other scooter after engine swap ? (i mean new sccoter with old engine)

if you do please don`t get 300$ kits..they don`t worth it, it`s more fun with 30$ kits (yes thats the preice of a good quality cylider kit here)

hi again and sorry slinger .. are you sure you checked the exhaust bolts near the cooling fan ? cause i had mine vibrating and rattle just as a broken bearing. check the stand bolts too.
but if you can hear it koncking at idle.. i suggest buying a cranck for bigbores (yes they exist) and a big bore kit of course :)

also i must say enjoy the new kymco people :)

this summer i bought a 2t too.. don`t worry the agility didn`t go.
i bought a piaggio zip 2 in very bad shape, fork bent, all the plastics cracked, the engine totaled..i was able to shake the crank axle inside :))
but now it`s running great, almoust new engine, repaired the craks with the soldering iron, painted etc

huge difference with 2t istn`t it :D

Agility 50 / Re: crazy gas gauge
« on: July 21, 2010, 03:40:23 PM »
my gas gauge was defective from factory so when i dissmounted the side pannels i gave a look in the tank also.
inside is a a pice o wire and a mechanism with the flotor attached to it. all u need is to tighten/loosen the wire by hand so the flotor can move better.
that`s all..and don`t forget the position it has inside the tank

PS 10.000 km on my scoot now :D

« on: June 24, 2010, 02:42:46 PM »
i`m also thinking to buy a set of kick start parts for my agil.
lately i hear a strange noise from the cover like the pedal mechanism is touching the bendix or what doese it touches inside. It`s like you push it with the engine running : CR C R RR CCRRR
so every time i ride it i must listen and if it does sound like that i have to stop and with the engine running push the pedal with my hand 1-2 times. Then it stops doing that.

Mechanism has grease, it works good, the pedal returns to maximum UP position, i don`t kick it like noobs do. What it the cause ?

i`m interested in fitting 125 agility engine into 50cc model.
Are you sure the frame doesent need any modifications ? Because i saw that the 125 back suspension has a different angle (almoust vertical)

i have motorcycle licence

after a few houndred kms i got rid of the slipping sensation.
now the scooter pulls almoust as hard as in the begining but without vibration.

i think the grease went away yupyy :)
