People 50 / Re: 2007 People S 50cc 4T speed

You are right on AXY. Lack of atmospheric pressure is my basic problem. Cannot even get a logical compression test. I still have a car with a carburetor and a manifold pressure gauge and am lucky to draw 17 inches here. Take it to the flatland and draws 23. Main was a 78 and I put in an 85. I think I have a 105 laying around somewhere. Anyone recommend a size for 6200 feet? Thanks

Yes, The variator was derestricted when I got the scoot. I tried to surgically derestric the OEM CDI but never did see the green wire and did not want to go deep enough to kill it. Finally found a DC CDI that was guaranteed to not be restricted. Because the belt is going all the way up the variator, I need more RPM or a larger variator (if there is such a thing).I am thinking of trying a 743X20X30 belt instead of the 743X18X30 and see if it blows or goes. I'm just tired of getting the bird and honked at and want to be able to maintain 40MPH. Our new law that ups to 40MPH also---
Imposes the following penalties for exceeding 40 miles per hour:
1-4 miles per hour over is                     $56 and 0 points;
5-9 miles per hour over is                     $85 and 2 points;
More than 9 miles per hour over is       $116 and 4 points.
In theory, I could be on a 45MPH street, keeping up with traffic, and get a ticket for exceeding 40MPH. Kinda dumb, huh but I ain't risking $85 and 2 points off my auto drivers license.

My 4 stroke is too slow. Am at 6200 feet. Scoot runs out about 35MPH on level. Used to be no problem cause speed limit was 30MPH here in Colorado. Legislature finally wised up and changed the limit to 40MPH, although insurance is now mandatory, which is not necessarily bad. Now scoot cannot make the limit.
Am considering a Malossi Multivar Variator. What speed could I expect with that and a new belt (mine measures 17mm). Belt is currently going to top of variator (wipes out magic marker line). Really need 45MPH but am not interested in increasing displacement. All I have done is replace CDI and coil and install Iriduim plug. Engine runs great but seems to be running slow at WOT. Sounds like about 4K

People 50 / Re: 2007 People S 50 4T Dimmer Switch

Thank you sir. I copied and pasted and printed both pictures and your message. Will check my scoot as soon as I get a chance. The left hand handle with switches is available. Maybe that would work. I cannot believe they would make a seperate harness for the few scoots without a switch. I am not sure I can buy a handle without a switch hole. Oh well, so goes the Asian decision makers. I still like the scoot.

Thanks that would help. I just really want to know what the objective was to not have a dimmer switch. I have other stuff to ride at night
