MXU / MXU 50 Reverse speedometer/odometer malfunction

Hello everybody!
First of all, im new to this forum so i do not know if there are still active members, so lets hope for the best!
Recently ive bought a Kymco MXU 50 Reverse. It had some rear axle problems. Ive managed to fix most of it but the last problem i have is the speedometer. Its a digital one that works with a magnet attached to the rear gearwheel/cogwheel. There is a sensor, close to it on the axle-housing. The problem is: i do get a reading from my multimeter when the sensor and the magnet are aligned, even at the plug that goes into the display. But unfortunately the display still only shows 0 km/h. My first thought was: should i replace the display?
There is another small problem, but i am not sure wether its related or not. My neutral indicator is always on. It doesnt matter if it is in 'F', 'R' or 'N'.
I have searched many forums but i could not find the answer to this problem, so any help will be appreciated!
