I got 9500 (2k of which was close to max load) out of my X400i’s stock tires, though it was a bit boxed.
Use city grips on rear now, stock front still.
Really good tire

[emoji26][emoji26][emoji26]wow. And you seemed to be enjoying it so much. I wish I was in the market for one because it sounds like a great scooter.

It really is but I have to, I absolutely never planned for this, but push has come to shove, I’ll absolutely buy another kymco in the future though!

Gonna keep a long story short, I’m selling my Xciting 400i, with much sorrow in my heart, if anyone is interested, or knows where I should post this more specifically, let me know

Also depends on the riding you wanna do!
And I like to vouch for scooters if it’s your first time, given you time to focus on aspects of riding a bit more, and not worrying and shifting and such.
IMHO

Good post, Alex! Big difference when you get whuffo questions like that (whuffo = wha' fo' you ride that?). Lotsa people don't get that 50's can be a "speed bump" in traffic and you can get just as dead by falling off at 30 mph as much as a 500!

My brother’s girlfriend got hit on her BICYCLE, and passed away (bless her)

People need to understand to ATLEAST wear a helmet. Always. No matter how short, you don’t know if in the next 100 feet the car coming behind you is checking their phone and speeding even a little.

If I get pushed nearly out the lane, I’m off the road immediately. But on the Xciting this is less common! Yay

Not exactly related, but I was heading into McDonalds last week and a guy asked me what I ride (modular helmet, save time by just not taking it off for take-out.) and I said “Just a kymco (usually they get disinterested at this, or just curious at the brand)” he peeks out “how big is the engine?” “400.” “400?! Wow that’s big for a scooter! Didnt know they came that big!” “Yeah they do” at this point he seems legitimately curious and asks lots of questions, mpg, comfort, cost, maintenance, etc. He seems very interested the whole time. Made me feel good!

I’ve gotten the helmet question for the Agility 50 a load “it’s only a 50” (We’re in NY, helmets are MANDATORY.)
The people I bought the the Xciting from seemed incredibly worried the whole time, even marking a still very expensive icon jacket down to around 100$. Which on Revzilla still cost over 200$ and marked down a new helmet for me as well. They were amazing.
People seemed to care a lot more when I got the 400i.

Photo has been added, just for you, Uncle Jed, lol.

Alexis, what kind of wireless mounting/chargrer are you using? Any photos of your set-up?
Thanks.
My set up is over in the Xciting 400i thread!
I got the charger at walmart, in the electronics

Now, I want to start adding some things, like a windshield extender. I also need to ask where (and how) are you folks mounting a phone?
I use a wireless charging car mount, mounted straight to the windshield, and rubber bands to keep any movement, also lets me not worry about charge on LONG trips.
I run a givi windshield that basically completely removes wind from the driver.

I have no idea what the air box on a Xciting 400i looks like, but maybe you should also consider smearing the inside of the box with a thin layer of ordinary grease. That's exactly what I did to my "el cheapo" scooter's air box, as well as the air box on my previous bike.

Most dirt that enters the air box will get stuck in the grease and will never enter the engine. In my current scooter's case I couldn't even find any trace of dirt on my modified filter when I opened the box for inspection. All dirt got strapped in the grease inside the box, as well as the inlet pipe to the box. (The inlet pipe has also been smeared with a thin layer of grease, as deep as possible).

That’s a legitimately a good idea! Thanks for that!

ALSO!

WE HIT 10K miles!
Been about 8 months!
Now, I did notice a difference when I moved from 1000 ft above sea level to a whole extra mile up. I fixed this by  (forgive me) removing the air filter.
I’m going to get a cold air filter soon, but I check the airbox daily, with not dust or moisture besides always a tiny smear of oil (like finger print size)
Since doing this I’ve notices I’m probably either back to normal, or 95% there.

Never had a start issue, except for one time I left it on without the engine on, and I waited an hour, then it started fine again.
She’s got a new rear tire (michelin city)
And she just had all the oils changed.

I haven’t noticed a drop in any power, she still zips away (though on some days she doesn’t like carrying two people, see 7000 ft).
I’m getting about 55-60mpg now as well.
I love this scooter very much, she’s never let me down and handled the worst of the worst (rode from work in a blizzard one day.)
I’m planning to do an engine check service, to check the insides. I fear I may have asked a bit too much more than a few times, though she never fought me at these points so who knows.

This has been the best 6800$ I’ve ever spent. (6650 plus the givi windscreen)
Every ride has been an adventure I’d never  want to change.
We actually celebrated last night (9940 miles, 88 mile round trip) it’s really hard to put this all into words honestly and sounds stupid I’m sure, but I consider this vehicle part of me and my fiance’s family.

I am planning to purchase a Kawasaki Concours soon. For LONG range trips (5000 mile round trip planned this summer!)
But this scooter will always be our roundtown, and to and fro work machine.

Also thanks to everyone on this forum for help (I FORGOT HOW TO MAKE THE OIL SERVICE LIGHT TURN OFF AGAIN), and support!

Here’s to 10,000 more!
