There has never been a scooter dealer hold up on a long run around here. And only one MC repair shop that is not a dealership has stood the test of time.
'Tis a shame, because I'd like to see more of the smaller two wheelers get more use !

I would agree w/Stig's FIL about the truck...
My F150 got 160k miles on 3 plug changes and maybe 4 or 5 oil changes ?
Just began the third set of tires, and it spent most of it's life with a mid sized load of construction materials and tools.
Worked fine until I got clobbered while on the hi-way... T-boned, driver's door !
A defective coil pack, or wimpy fuel pump causing a miss under heavy load was the only performance problem I ever had.
Fresh plugs never did fix the stumble it had, from time to time...

Yes, I have a strong preference for the 'big wheelers', too !
Tiny tires are just brutal when navigating the potholes fails.

Updated coms today say Caro had further surgery and is recovering well.

Hodaka motorcycles made a Combat Wombat dirtbike a number of years ago...



Back in the day, the Hodaka Ace 90 was a great little offroad bike, and the Ace 100 was also.
I never rode the Wombat, but expect it was pretty good, also.

They were soundly trounced by Yamaha, with Suzuki and Honda coming along, in time.

General Discussion / Rider dies after eclipse, in Chattahoochee National Forest collision

A popular Youtuber was killed in a collision while he and his spouse were riding their scooter in the Chattahoochee National Forest.
Apparently a van over ran them as they slowed to turn from the highway onto a side road.
Sean O'Connor was killed upon impact with the roadside berm.
His spouse, Carolina was apparently dragged, along with the scooter, for nearly 300ft before stopping.
This accident occurred shortly after the eclipse, which they had traveled to North Carolina to view.
Carolina was in intensive care for severe damage to legs requiring rods installed and multiple skin grafts. She also has 7 broken ribs and  a pierced lung.  She is now recovering somewhat and is able to eat.
Their channel, known by Road Warrior is very popular. They seemed to be a nice young couple...
