Thanks MJR.

In the frame under the seat I have found two wires going into CDI frayed with conductor exposed.  I will  try to insulate them with tape / cyano.

There are just two wires from the pick-up, Blue/White and Green/White.  How can they be tested ? Only thing I can think of is of removing the  4-pin connector from CDI and testing for continuity between the two wires.  Is there a better way ?

I don't know if there is there is a way to check voltage on a AC type Kymco D411  CDI .

Thanks again.

General Discussion / Australia CK125 / Pulsar S125 (2011) not starting
« on: April 22, 2017, 12:45:38 AM »
I am not sure of the exact forum etiquette, hence this first general message.

Would it be possible to contact someone on the forum who may have expertise in the CK125, also known as the Pulsar S125 worldwide.  I am based in Chatswood Sydney.

The bike, a 2011 model is showing its age with recurring issues with starting up.  Mechanically it seems OK.  These issue are erratic, likely electric contact related.  The bike will refuse to start when parked for 30 mins even when earlier running fine for 1 hour.  Or else it will not start at all in the morning.

Battery is kept topped up on AC charger, fuel tank cap removed then put back on to eliminate vapor llock.  New plug, plug cap/wire.  Ignition coil tested OK with multi-meter.

Likely cause :  poor electrical contacts, faulty ignition switch, defective CDI, etc.  Last night I found reason for not starting was no spark.  Will try again this morning, by troubleshooting backwards from coil.

I would welcome any thoughts / suggestions on this.

Thanks.
