Yes, it's an old thread but that never stopped me before.
I just bought an '09 People 150 with 11,500 miles on it.
Other than one scratch on a chrome trim part it looks almost new.
It is getting new tires and probably a new carb. Don't need to touch anything else as the oil, plug, air filter have all been changed.
Might due the trans oil just because.

sissymary, what is the p/n for that gel battery?
I have a new battery in mine but I'm sure the guy I bought it from bought the cheapest one he could in order to sell the scoot.
Having the p/n saved in "notes" on my phone will help next time it needs a battery.

Found my answer.
The shutter key used for the 500's are all alike. Nothing special about them.

Before Harbor Freight came along, it used to be either yard sales or pawn shops.
Of course at pawn shops you had some recourse for bringing it back in case it didn't work.
Picked up an electric impact by Milwaukee for $65 one time. Still have it. Not only has it paid for itself but changing snow tires back n forth over the winter sure is fast as well.
No air required.  ;)

That is the shutter key.
My key is the same as this one.

I just picked up a 2007 xciting 500 a few days ago and it came with only one key and one "locking" key.
The owner showed me how it worked.

Q: Are all the locking keys the same or different? i.e. Suzuki has three magnets inside that are placed in thousands of different combinations.

I'm new on the forum as I joined to research all I can on the 500 xciting.
I'm looking at a 2007 (carb) model.
It has some little things that will need attention. Nothing serious, though.
Extremely low mileage, but runs perfectly. Looks... um... ah... let's just say I'm going to go through a few bottles of Black Restore.  :P
Scratches here and there. It's from drunks at a party that knocked it over. >:(
Rust on the bottom of the shocks, rear reflectors brackets, various screws that are exposed.
Me thinks it spent it's life outside, uncovered. ::)

Very good info. Being it's a Mikuni I'm guessing rebuild parts shouldn't be to hard to get?
