Yeah, I  get in that  57 mpg range. Don't think there's something wrong. My scooter accelerates quickly and has a nice top speed. Kymco gets a lot out of this 150 probably at the expense of great gas mileage.

A bigger tank is one mod I'd make if it was possible, but Alas! Tight fit.

I don't think it's the mileage so much as the tiny gas tank.

Thanks Stig. Yeah I know, but I've been reading a lot. Turns out the first 20 miles might be the most important not the first 600 . . . and one would hope the set up guy at the dealership was not tempted to "see what she could do" unless of course it turns out that is what's best for seating the rings etc. which many engineers postulate is indeed the case. I'm following the manual's directive yet asking the question to people who may have the knowledge.

Controversial I know. Looking for a preponderance of opinion. Soft as per the manual or hard like much of the available science suggests?

Super 8 150 / Gas Capacity

New 150X 180 miles. Almost time for the 200 mile service. Love the scooter so far, but MPG seems low - not even 60. And the gas tank is tiny. i appreciate the weight reduction, I live where many of the roads are dirt and gravel (A reason I went with this scooter) but seems like I need gas every ride .  .  . Just venting. Question; Will the MPG improve as the scooter breaks in and matures?

Indeed, but you could use a file as well.

Super 8 150 / Back rest
« on: October 22, 2018, 03:58:26 PM »
I purchased my new Super 8 150 last week and could not keep the backrest locked in an upright position for riding or refueling. I removed and disassembled the back seat which was easy. I discovered it worked via a cam. The business surfaces did not match up perfectly and were slipping. I used a Dremel to resurface the cam so that they fit together well and voila! I now have a backrest which stays in place when riding . . . or refueling . . . which one has to do too much IMHO. I wish the gas tank was bigger. But other than that I love this bike so far.

I really like the bike. Wish the gas tank was bigger and then the seat thing, but other than that, I'm extremely happy 😊

General Discussion / Kymco Super 8 150X backrest
« on: October 17, 2018, 06:56:39 PM »
Just bought my Super 8 150 X. Cant get the backrest to stay locked in, What am I doing wrong? I know pulling it hard releases it. I'm trying to put it up ever so gently.
