You just have to search for scooter rallies on the net. Austin, San Antonio, and Houston has a lot of scooterist that create and go to rallies.

Full face in the winter, 3/4 helmet in the spring and fall, 1/2 shell in the dead of summer.

A good jacket, large windscreen, lap apron, handlebar mitts, textile pants. Sometimes heated gloves and jacket liner when it gets below freezing. The main thing about riding in cold weather is to stay warm. I've ridden down to 5 F. So far. Scooters offer better protection from the elements than motorcycles. Good luck.

It's funny because I have ridden my scooters off road, across rivers, and have been car less for ten years. Lived in TX, OR, NM, HI, and CO. Most people in Denver who ride bikes tell me it's possible to ride year round. Most cagers don't think so.  The scooter's lower center of gravity and wide tires make it easy to ride. Like I said I ride when possible, up to 1/2 inch of snow it's ok, the weight and good tires make it possible. I do see some motorcyclist ride also, but I think the scooter offers great weather protection with the appropriate gear. After about a week of the same temperatures you get used to the cold.

The weather is currently 27F here in Denver, a few flurries last night, but allegedly no snow accumilation. I ride if the roads are not slick. My scooters are my only transportation. If they're more than an inch of snow I don't ride. If it's icy I don't ride. I usually rent a car in those times. I ride 28 miles from home to work and back usually at 630 am and 5 pm. Carburated bikes don't do so well under 32 F.

12,000 to 18000 per year between my two scooters. As of this morning I've ridden 8048 miles since May 8th.

Got a pair of these! They work great! Pretty reasonably priced too.

Thank You for your advice. I raised the idle today. I noticed that it was very high after cruising around so I lowered it to 1500 rpm. The bike ran great. I also installed a pair of tucano urbano handlebar muffs. The muffs work good deflecting wind off of your hands. I was pretty stoked riding to church then around before returning home. I also spoke with a local fellow Kymco rider and he told me the same thing as both of you mentioned. I have a project with this bike. Restoration and learning. Thank You!
