Xciting 500 / Re: How much Money do you invest in your Xciting500 annually?

CAVEAT LECTOR
I do not currently have a Kymco 500 but I do pay some attention to my operating costs on my Burgman 400. I will lurk around here for a while as it seems the Kymco 500 or perhaps the Downtown 300 are viable alternatives.
So...
I ride 18-20K miles per year and currently have 98K miles on the IceBerg. Over the past 5 years I have:
replaced the variator and driven plates 3 times (did an extra one for the front at which time I found out you should replace front and rear together, shredded the belt after 7K and got a ride home from a tow truck)
Replaced five belts.
replaced 10 rear tires and 5 or 6 front tires.
changed the oil around 28-30 times.
replaced the rear wheel (splines stripped at 97K)
replaced the rear brakes 4 times and the fronts once.
replaced the rear brake rotor at 60 or 70K
replaced the rear caliper (at 97K).
Cost for these items (doing my own labor for all)
TIres are around $150/ year
Plates run about $700 every 2 years
Belts are around $150 per year
Oil changes are about 5-6 per year (3 filters) for an annual cost of $70
Brakes (I recommend OEM as the cheap aftermarket pads tend to eat rotors and ultimately led to my need to replace the rear rotor and caliper) rear $30, front $60
Total cost of ownership (initial purchase, insurance, fuel and maintenance amortized over miles ridden) for the Burgman 400 has been right around $0.13-$0.15 per mile, assuming the scooter has no residual value at this point. This is slightly cheaper, but not remarkably so, than a small used car. As I tell my friends, ride because you like to ride. Not to save money.
