Glad to hear all is well and that you can ride all year long.

I still have the 400 but am getting it ready for sale, I just don't have enough room in the garage for both machines plus my wife has a valid point , I only have 1 butt. LOL

All I can say is the Burgman grin is bigger on the 650.

Be good, Talk to you soon.

glad to hear I am not the only one like that. I always think, it will just be a light sprinkle that will dry off fast. It seems if I stop and put on the rain gear the rain stops. 8)

+1.

Damned if you do and damned if you don't.

Thanks.

Any progress on the rebuild?

InfernoST/Keith,

Too bad the previous owner didn't see the repair in Germany before tearing it apart - would have saved me a lot of work..

I hear that Brother. I believe they got the CVT out in about 2hrs.

I'm picking up my 650 this Thursday and am glad to see it can be done in such short order should the cvt fail on mine.

I change my riding style to adapt to the rain safely by going slower leaving a larger distance for stopping safely while avoiding all metal road plates, manholes, any and all painted road surfaces as all of these items can be a slick as ice when wet especially when braking. I'm not to worried about getting wet I'm more interested in getting to my destination in one piece, if the opportunity does present itself I will pull over and put on my rain gear, again not on the top of my priority list when I'm caught in the rain.

Did a LOT of research before deciding to take on the project - between BurgmanUSA and printing the repair manual I've used over 1000 sheets of paper.   :)  The Burgman owner in your link above also has a comprehensive Burgman repair website of which I've printed about 95% of...

LeDude is the member in the link above and the Red 650 you pictured above belongs to Craig AKA Buffalo on BUSA. Both of these guys are aces when it comes to fixing these finicky 650's.

After comparing both the Kymco & Sym bikes I find the parts/components used on the Kymco to be more robust than the SYM as well as the fit & finish. JM2C

As far as getting $800 off of msrp it is entirely possible, I just signed a deal for a 2012 650 Executive for $9000.00 (Retail $9899) which also includes the service manual (not throwing in the service manual would have been deal breaker). Hopefully I will get the bike this coming week.

You should check out this thread over @BUSA, it extremely informative with step by step pics and video. Don't be fooled, the ECVT parts required to repair it are quite costly. Good luck with the repair.

My 08 Burg 400 has 24,000 miles on her (US) and shows no signs of it, she runs like a champ.

Pretty impressive mileage on those rides. I'm looking to get a feel for the durability of the engines and machines as a whole because I'm looking to upgrade my ride in early 2013 and was considering the Myroad 700i if it comes to the states.

Just curious how many miles you have on your Kymco scooters? Also what is the highest amount of miles you know of anyone having?

Thanks
