Heck somewhere in the circuit is a light control module which dims the lights when the bike's idling after a few seconds to conserve electricity.Thanks , yes that's right , I'm aware that there's a controller module and as I already mentioned, I already tried to swap it out with one I found on ebay.
A nifty feature that I never had a problem with, but others have. The solution has usually been noted as bypassing it.
If nothing else that would let you know whether that is the problem or not.
I located one on the epfguzzi site.
No clue if this is the best place to get one, & I'd need to see the wiring to figure out the bypass myself, but their link is here

I would guess that it is directly connected to the harness (33130) seen here.
