Kymco News / Re: KymcoUSA 2012 Models
« on: June 21, 2011, 06:22:51 PM »
KYMCO currently has no plans to get out of the 50cc 2-stroke business.  When a KYMCO USA executive was specifically asked "Is Kymco getting out of the 50 cc 2 stroke business?", here's what they had to say, verbatim...

"No… The EPA testing requirements have changed.  Thus far Yamaha, Vespa, Genuine & ourselves have not passed.  Therefore every 2-stroke model will remain stamped as a 2011 until we pass or Dec. 31st, whichever comes first."

I dont know where the EPA testing is now but if the scoot manufacturers havnt passed testing isnt this about the same as being discontinued? In other words if the 2T's can't pass the EPA test then there is no 2t's going to be imported. Also I didnt get the part about the scoots being stamped as 2011? Why would they be stamped at all if they can't pass the new stricter test???

Kymco News / Re: Kymco Electric ?
« on: December 17, 2010, 07:47:53 PM »
As with all electric vehicles you have the first bunch of buyers who are basically hard core environmentalist type's.(Also some rich people with all their toys)Which is a good thing since the product needs bought in order to reach the next generation of electric performance. With each advancement in range, speed, lower price comes the next group down the totem pole. They buy even more product again resulting in improvements in range, speed, lower price etc. With advancements once again the product is finally ready for mainstream buying. When scoots get to the 200 mile range, quick re-charge times, top speeds of at least 65mph and a price comparable to gas engines,I'll be a buying.

Hoo, this sonds a bit like an infomercial and it is not exactly backed up with anything. Sorry. :)
I have unfortunately always kept scoots outside and the only issue is "whitening" of the black matte plastic parts after two or more years.
One would expect problems with corrosion of the contacts in the electrical system.

However, I would not keep a regular motorcycle outside.

I dont think it's rocket science to figure out keeping one's scooter(anything really) inside vs outside will prolong it's life quite a bit. It's backed by experience and real world proof.Havn't you ever seen peoples autos who keep em in their garage vs outside? How you can argue differently is beyond me.It's so obvious I don't think anyone is going to take the time to prove it to a doubter.]

I guess some of us are true Scooterist and some are not.I love scoots of every size and as such would buy this baby in a heart beat. The 700 would be perfect for those out of town trips. This thread was started to show off the Kymco 700 not to be taken over by,I'd rather buy a motorcycle. There are plenty of forums for those that would rather have a motorcyle but this thread is for talking about the K700.I say bring it to the US now.

You can always count on Kymco to come out with new or improved scooters.I ran across the new Agility R16i 200(not 125) over at Motoblog.Although not in English there is plenty of pics to view or you can translate the article. The big question as always, will we in the US get it? Cross your fingers!

A 7oocc scooter? I don't know about that one... Kinda like James bond 0012 1/3 It just dosen't ring

Its only 50cc (if that much, what is the exact cc's?) over the Suzuki Burgman 650.So no biggie here, now if a scooter comes out at around 1000 + cc's then I'll perk up.Just saying.
