Yeah! Have anyone seen it? Is it possible to see it somewhere on the net?

Yeah, that button is pretty tricky. On my X500 2k6 I had to hold it for 3-5 seconds. But somehow on x500 2k8 I had to push it 3-5 times to turn that light off.

Now about the tires - I'm not sure about the sites, but I'm sure about the tires.
If your tire wears off quickly it's actually a good thing. You see, if you have a hard rubber on tire, it won't wear off quickly, BUT it means, that because it's hard, it will take much more time to get hot. Now when the tire is hot, it becomes sticky, so it "sticks" to the road. By the way, this is the reason you see all that F1 racers slip on the start, which burns the tires a little bit. They loose some time on it, as they stay still while slipping and they loose some tire on it, but it make their tires hot and gives them better handling right at the start.
BUT,  3 tires for 4k miles is too much. Why did you have to change? My be you had low air pressure and that's the reason the wear off?
Now when you go and buy a tire, I can recommend Pirelli Diablo. It has pretty soft rubber so they catch the road fast. If you want something harder, you can go with Bridgestone. They will last a little longer, and they're not too hard as well. Tried Michelin with B&W 250. They are pretty good too.
Anyways, don't try to save a few bucks on the tires. It's the only thing that really matters. Had a friend, which took some cheap tires. First little rain took him down on really low speed and straight road. He was lucky not to get too much injuries, but the bike was dead.

dude, i definitely agree, that you would take those turns at twice that speed... but would you do it at twice that speed with camera in your left hand, while trying to film all around. That guy took the cam to the symbol on the left, near the leg, to left and right mirrors and so. Don't judge  his speed  ;) his fine.

Technical | How To / Full system???

Well, I guess it's a stupid one, but still a question for me - what the heck is this full system exhausts? I mean what's the difference between full and not full systems?  ???

No restriction with any Xciting.
Official top speed 147kph (with was hardly reached with the slightly inferior carb. model). And still its only 27.5 and 28.2kW.
Until last year Taiwan (Kymco resides there) didn't allow any motorcycles on the highway. Why building a high speed scooter?
Oh, on the speedometer we can see >160kph. But not nearly on the GPS (on flat street, bidirectional averaged).
Well, I think Kymco thought about selling it beyond Taiwan. I don't think they thought about x500 only for Taiwan market.

As I have  read somewhere, it was restricted by ignition deactivation on 150 or 160 kmh. But it was on 2006 and maybe on 2007. But I have no idea about 2008 and younger. I've made 160 on mine and not sure if I'm able to do more... Never got the opportunity.

Xciting 500 / x500 restriction
« on: July 29, 2010, 05:23:27 PM »
Recently thought about my first x500. It was from the first generation, 2006. As I remember, it was restricted to 160kmh or something like that. Now with my x500 2008, I'm not sure if it's restricted too. You guys have any idea?

he he... stupid me ;) I guess that's the reason, I didn't find any kymco exhausts at YOSHIMURA's site.
Anyways, so what's the idea of a carburetor on the injucted xciting 500Ri ? I guass I'm missing something there.

From HiFlo I've found this -http://www.hiflofiltro.com/17.0.html?&L=0&sel_uid=3702] http://www.hiflofiltro.com/17.0.html?&L=0&sel_uid=3702
It really has no nut, which I really liked on the K&N, but as I have that special tool for oil filters, it's not SO important ;)

Back to the exhaust - There's a cool guy, I guess from Japan or somewhere at the east there. He made some nice upgrades to his xciting 2010. Anyways, I saw that he used YOSHIMURA TMR-MJN 40mm exhaust on his scooter. Does anyone have any idea, how are those things? I couldn't eve find one fro sale on the net... I guess didn't searched well enough ;)

Hay star I would consintrait on the jetting and air intake.  Get a hell of alot more there for the cost of some jets and a little time spent + some heavier rollers. Most of the 4t pipes  breathe ok just need some fine tuneing. I don't have your moddel, but check my s200 thread to get an idea.
Well, I'm not sure what to do about jetting in this model, as it's not a carburetor. So I guess it should be some power commander, as msgtphil suggested.
About the air intake - I'm considering installing a Dragon Custom air intake. Although it's a little expensive (125$ + shipment to Israel) but I guess it worth it, as it take the air in totally different way. As an alternative, I'm thinking to make something like that by myself  ::)

PS Welcome to the forum
Thanks!  ;D

I put a free flow straight through muffler on my 500R its fuel injected so dont have any jets to upset. It feels better, sounds great , but didnt show any improvement in MPG
Can you please describe, what and how you did? Isn't it too loud? Because I do want different sound and some power, but I don't wanna chopper.

P.S. Is there any difference in oil filters? I mean the brands? I'm thinking to install a K&N oil filter, bu not sure if it's better then the stock one.

Xciting 500 / Exhaust upgrade
« on: July 27, 2010, 10:19:49 PM »
Hey guys!
I have my xciting 500r 2008 for about 5 months and I'm thinking about upgrading the exhaust. Now I'm wondering, which one will be best for it? By best I mean power boost and money-performance ratio.

I'm now thinking about Leo Vince exhaust or gpr. GPR is more expansive, so will it give more for it's money, or it's just money for a brand name? Someone tried one of those?

THANKS!
