adjusted the speedometer sensor. And the jumping around was fixed, but if i let go of the throttle, once it slows down a little it will drop to zero.

Does the electronics run strictly on the battery.  The reason i ask, is becuase my low beams went out yesterday, so i had to use my highbeams.

I rode for about three hours as well as having my radio that i installed. Then little by little, it got dimmer and dimmer, and then the battery indicator light came on, and then It just died, then i had to call a wrecker at 2 oclock in the morning to pick me up and it cost me 150 dollars.

So tell me... is their no alternator, and me running on highbeams did it kill the battery?

These are the bulbs that are not used in the US version of 500ri.

Someone posted on the bulb topic about these unused connections. Anyone try to put working bulbs in these areas. (the position lights).

I am going to go to the autoparts store trhat only sell sylvania, and see what it can look like. I think it may just outline thew headlight.

so a couple of things:

I took of the fairing and took out the headlight fixture and there are two bulbs there where the new position lights are now. They look like dummy bulbs, but has anyone tried to replace them and put regular bulbs to see what it looks like?

additionally, I went to autozone, advanced auto parts, and walmart and they all only sell sylvania bulbs. whats up with that? I bought the brightest H4 60/55 or whatever the ultra silverstar. i haven't taken it out on the road yet, becuase i want to know if i can put bulbs in the other two places.

All questions i have asked here are for you all to answer?

Sylvania in all my autoparts places? and the two dummy bulbs?

Xciting 500 / speedometer problem
« on: January 30, 2011, 02:03:57 AM »
So now my speedometer needle started to clock down to zero when I would throttle down. When I throttle back it would go back to the right reading.

Now, my speedometer needle while i am driving goes up and down when cruising. Zero up to cruisng speed, and then it stops and stays at zero when driving.

What do i do, besides take it to the dealer.
