Does anyone have a suggestion as to how to clean the gas stains and scuffs on the black plastic on my People 250?

General Discussion / Re: Test Ride - 150 vs 250
« on: August 07, 2010, 04:14:53 PM »
I recently went from a 150 to a 250. The 250 is heavier and seems a little top heavy. It's a little awkward around parking lots and smaller spaces. On the road, it's much better. The higher speeds make keeping up with traffic much better. This is rather like a sail boat. In the harbor and around the docks, you have to be cautious, but on the open water, she flies.

People 250 / Re: Shed a little tear for me!

Since your note about the side stand was posted under the People 250 category, I'm curious. I recently bought a 2006 People 250 and if I put the side stand down while the scooter is running, it automatically shuts down. ????

Technical | How To / Belt and ???
« on: June 06, 2010, 02:36:38 AM »
I recently purchased a 2006 People 250. It has about 2600 miles on it. (I thought it was about 3400 until I realized that BOTH the speedometer and odometer read in metrics.)  It runs well with plenty of  power and speed....However, It has the sound similar to low octane, particularly under acceleration. I am using 92 Octane. Any thoughts? Is there a valve adjustment issue or is this normal ? #2: I'm getting vibration and chatter from the drive as I move from a stop. It eases  some after warm up. I have another drive belt on order in case that is the issue and have not yet taken the cover off. Do belts act like this when they wear? It seems like the mileage is  too low for problems like  this to show up.
